http://jeffcutler.com/ : Of free lunches, free phones, junkets, waterparks and the FTC

Friend Jim Storer - http://twitter.com/jimstorer - correctly mentioned to me in passing that if I am so hot to call out folks for not being transparent here, I should have also done so during events in which I participated where some folks didn't disclose their compensation. He's right. While I have been above-board in all my dealings, there have been situations where fellow participants didn't make it clear they were getting products or experiences for free. While they have to live with themselves for that, I too shouldn't get all hot and bothered over some folks in a separate events (Great Wolf Lodge VIP Media Day) not adhering to FTC requirements if I don't get similarly hot and bothered about folks dropping the ball at events where I'm present. Point taken. Will be more vigilant moving forward. Jeff

http://jeffcutler.com/ : Social Business Stories - Apple Store and Sullivan Tire

Mark, The best part of the whole experience - at Apple and at Sullivan - was that there was learning on both sides. I was thrilled that the guys at your Weymouth store came around and were able to find better tires for my wife under the ongoing promotion. I was also happy - and I didn't recount this in the blog post - that the team at Sullivan Tire HQ called me to get my feedback on how the phone system could be made better. I smiled when I called the store yesterday because the "press 2 to speak to someone at the Weymouth location" prompt was already on the phone. Thanks for writing. I'm looking forward to my next visit as my MINI almost needs new tires. Chat soon! Jeff

Would you rather have these photos as big images? Just wondering. Might make it easier to poke around the site after you're done looking.

BostonTweetUp : October Poll of the Month

My question, to distill it, is why this month there is no write-in option on the Tweetup poll. That's it.

BostonTweetUp : October Poll of the Month

Was just asking because I thought I remembered other monthly polls having a write-in option. Did you exclude that option just because of that one event? If so, you're doing MHT and your friend Doug a disservice. The MHT Tweetup was an event you promoted, so shouldn't it be here too or at least have an option to be written in? Oh, also, I don't see any Pokin' Holes events, any WingmanTV events or other stuff here. A write-in option would be a great way to help your readers participate. Especially if they were unable to attend the limited list of items in the poll. I don't care if you continue your discrimination against NomX3.com events, that's your decision, but as more people attend these events it might be difficult to pretend they never happened. Speaking of which, will you be listing Podcamp NH? NomX3.com will be taping a show at the conference and will be the subject of at least one conference session. We're still contemplating filming at the Saturday night Tweetup at The Common Man, too. Thanks, Jeff

Can we do a write-in event. I'm sure some of the 150 folks at the Gary Vaynerchuk event would choose that as a winner this month. Thanks! ALSO, the MHT Tweetup deserves some votes. That was a who's who of the Boston tech community.
