Do not change this entry. ## 127.0.0.1       localhost 255.255.255.255 broadcasthost ::1             localhost fe80::1%lo0     localhost  # Block Adobe Activation 127.0.0.1       activate.adobe.com #74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com #127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com  ------------------------------------------ what should i do with this Host file?

Slava thank you for your help, here is wat happened after i've tried to resore with iTunes/Apple - i am getting " This device isn't eligible for the requested build " after clicking on OK .. iphone dissapears from iTunes and goes back to recover mode. is this because i have my Host File edited long time ago to not contact Apple? Do i need to edit Host file back to open Apple connection?

i've tried many instructions including yours but seems that cant enter DFU mode, but do i really need DFU mode while iTunes would restore to 6.1.3 only anyway, iTunes sees iPhone in recovery mode and doesn't ask for DFU when i click on Restore.... it just comes up with an option to resore to iOS 6.1.3 and click next to agree to their lousy "terms" .... should i just do it ?

thanks for your reply :) this iPhone 3GS is factory unlocked and jailbroaken , but ive been always careful and preserved the old baceband from 2010 . Now that its in constant recovery Loop and can't even enter the DFU the only option i 've got is to REstore with iTunes to the official iOS 6.1.3 that Apple puts on me .... will i be able to Jailbreak iOS 6.1.3 with a modern baseband after the restore?

thanks for reply , so i don't need to use the stitch SHSH blobs in redsn0w function to stich them to a custom iOS 5.1.1 in order to restore/update iPhone to it? where is restore tab function in redsn0w_mac_0.9.15b3 .... is it : EXTRAS -----> EVEN MORE ------> RESTORE ( Restore to an IPSW, with support for saved blobs and downgrades) than just select a downloaded iOS 5.1.1 or the STICHED version of 5.1.1 ? Than why i should use Absinthe 2.0.4 instead of redsn0w 0.5.15b3 to jailbreak , what are benefits? sorry for maybe silly question?

for some reason Safari and Cydia crash on launch on iOS 4.3 so i can't load jailbreakme.com to test that jailbreak. iOS 4.3 was installed using SHSH blobs in redsn0w - maybe something got screwed? Maybe i could somehow upgrade to 4.3.3 or 5.1.1 even though Apple stopped signing them, and i don't have blobs for it saved, or just go all the way up to iOS 6.0.1 and forget about untethered jailbreak for a while ?

Sorry Slava , i've just figured out how to "deactivate" Redsn0w / jailbreak / put in DFU mode / check option "deactivate" i've unckecked option "install Cydia" as it was already installed. Than after reboot the "connect to itunes screen appeared. I've connected to iTunes enter the SIM password and my Iphone 4 is now hardware IMEI unlocked! I am still on iOS 4.3 with preserved baseband 1.59.00 ! So far so good ... One thing though - Cydia crashes on launching ? before IMEI unlock i had a tethered 4.3 jailbreak . but now iPhone just reboots without any need or redsn0w , but Cydia crashes so i am not sure if i am Jailbroken or not...?

spasiba Slava :) the french Service provier ( Orange.fr) has promised to IMEI unlock my phone , but i need to sync with iTUnes to complete the procedure. i am still hesitant to sync with iTunes as i don't know to witch iOS Apple would push me to upgrade... probaly 6.0.1 or maybe they are alredy on 6.1 beta ... than i would loose my jailbreak .... witch is not the end of the world - BUT i do like sertain apps like iFile , or youtube download extention , or attachement server.. i've been jailbroken since iOS 3 and it feels very sad to finally Surrender to The Big Brother that Apple has become ... :(

Thank you for your reply and clearing it all up for me. I've just called my previous service provider to ask for IMEI unlock - they confirmed by email that they carried that out and in order to complete it i have to go trough syncing with iTunes. so if i sync with iTunes i would be upgraded to 6.0.1 or 6.1? my baseband will be surely upgraded too? Is there a way i could restore/sync with itunes to 6.0.1 but preserve my baseband? i've seen that there is a working tethered jailbreak for iPhone 4 6.0.1 right ? Or maybe if i would have a IMEI ( factory ) unlock i shouldn't worry about Basedans / SHSH's / Blobs and such anymore , and could just use jailbreaks as they become avaliable... or am i missing something?
