Squiggy, you're onto it... it comes down to "acceptance vs. respect"... if you "accept & agree" with what THEY have to say, you a good person. If you "respect, but not necessarily agree", then they call you an outcast, a racist, a homophobe, etc... There is no chance for any debate over the issue in their mind.
