The Democrats have controlled congress since Jan. 2007. As of Jan 2009 they had commanding majorities in both the house and the senate and controlled the executive branch. As of Jan 2011 the Dems retained control of the senate and the WH. To whine about the GOP or blame anyone but the Dems for the current economy simply showcases an astounding ignorance of current events. The Dems and their apologists are pathetic in their refusal to accept that their liberal policies are precisely the reason this country is where it is. And to suggest that Obama "inherited" something is absurd. Inherited is a passive verb. Obama ran for office; he sat in the senate since 2005. Is Cheadle really suggesting that Obama was so ignorant, so out of touch that he had no idea what kind of shape this country was in? What an astonishing thing to say about the man he hopes wins reelection.

Very well said, AreaMan. Conservatives have spent the last 25 years rolling their eyes and ignoring the blazing hypocrisy and total lack of accountability in programming like this (it was Friends back in my day) aimed at the younger crowd. And because no one from the conservative side takes it seriously we end up with a generation of kids who have been brainwashed by Hollywood to believe that, despite what mom and dad said, there are no consequences when you choose to follow your dancing "passion" and end up $50,000 in debt with no real skills. Our side hasn't been showing up to debate these issues and therefore we lose by default. When a kid enters high school and college there are a whole lot of more powerful influences than mom and dad working their magic on their brains and I for one am pleased to see talented conservatives taking on these other influences and showing up to debate these liberals who have gone far too long controlling the narrative without a response from our side other than to roll our eyes and ignore it. Now I don't have to watch Glee (although I did the first season but can't take the sucker punches anymore) to point out the flaws to my liberal friends and colleagues.

I'm really tired of the GOP eating its own. The accusations are anonymous and the stories are so light on facts that it borders on the absurd. And quite frankly the fact that Cain doesn't have a professional "team"around telling him how to "manage" this is fine with me. Let the story come out as it will but in the meantime perhaps the right of center blogs and outlets could refrain from jumping on the liberal media's bandwagon and doing their job for them and wait until we have solid facts to work with. And maybe I'm losing my perspective on the value of a dollar these days given that billions is now considered chump change but a $113,000 settlement between two women seems perfectly in line with an organization paying off a nuisance lawsuit.
