Didn't hear anything about a wreck, but I hope whoever it was is okay. Glad you guys enjoyed the ride, we couldn't have asked for a nicer day! Rides like that are meant to be savored for sure, more like a great dinner out, hope all 8 hours and 45 minutes were fantastic!

Hey Nick, too kind. Thanks. I was actually up late last night reading your blog. I saw that Krup had run into you this weekend and got the link from his blog. Very cool. I would like to get up there soon. I've spent alot of time in the San Juans but not as much on the front range.

Jason Taylor : Book Report: Made to Stick

Austin - I loved how easy the process is and good communicators just naturally seem to be good at it! Cool that you saw the connection with how Peter preaches in Acts. Can't wait to hear how your teaching goes.

Michael Hyatt Blog : My Take on the Vibram FiveFingers Running Shoes

Only two downsides I've found from using them all year so far. #1, they can be fairly slippery on rock that's got even the slightest amount of water and #2, if it's cold out, my toes get cold. When running I don't notice it as much but hiking or walking, if the outside temps are chilly my toes will get cold.

Thanks darlin. I took some but not all. I actually emailed the guy that guided the trip, today to ask if he was still visiting Copper Canyon. Thought that would make an incredible trip for us sometime in the near future.

Jason Taylor : My Top 10 List: Great Reads

Hey Dave! I try to give reading a bit of time every week but alot of these "top 10" are books that I've just digested again and again over the past several years. I try to take really good notes in the front and the back so I can always go back and grab the key concepts again if something comes to mind. Thanks for commenting.

Bill, love the list. thanks for sharing. I've head great things about A Tale of Three Kings and have Simple Church on a list of must reads but just simply don't have it yet. I'm also becoming more and more interested in bio's and autobio's so the Walt Disney and Lincoln ones sound interesting.

Michael Hyatt Blog : Recovering the Lost Art of Note Taking

This is a great post and very timely. In coaching, I've been encouraged to use the computer for taking notes and have found it to be cumbersome. It's certainly easier I guess but for some reason, writing down on the page, the key thoughts, tasks, actions and using a system of symbols (much like yours) has been more helpful to me of late. I'm also working on being more intentional about my tweeting and blogging so I specifically purchased a little Moleskin in addition to the one I use for my journal, that I carry with me everywhere. I put notes and thoughts and quips and ideas in it and so far it's been one of the best habits I've established of late.

Michael Hyatt Blog : Book Notes: Born to Run by Christopher McDougall

@michaelhyatt You know I love to run because it's about 70-80% of what I tweet about, write about and follow. I've recently started doing more and more training with my Vibram Five Fingers and have wanted to read this book badly. Two things have kept me from it. 1. The library waiting list is uber long and 2. We are paying off debt so I'm choosing not to spend money on books so I either have to get them from the library, borrow them or get them free. The reasons I want to read the book. 1. It's come highly recommended from several people I know. 2. I love sharing with people and this would definately be a book that would be passed on so it would be a gift to more than just me. 3. I've spent 2 weeks in Copper Canyon and would love to read more about the people. (I went on an REI tour several years ago and though we saw some of the Tarahumara, we didn't get to know the culture well) Thanks for doing this and for considering me as one of the 24.

Michael Hyatt Blog : What Keeps You Going When You Want to Quit?

Michael, yeseterday I did a long long mountain bike ride after work. After my first two flats I thought about quitting, after the 3rd one I was beginning to wonder if I should turn around. Mind you, I was doing a hill repeat workout which is fun if you you're crazy, and by the 4th flat and about 3 hours in I'd had it. Then, I blew out the side wall in my tire and had to walk home. What kept me from quitting was the constant thought that I still, even with the flats and the slowdowns and the "out of my control" aspect, I still get to do this, I still get to use my legs and things could always be worse. And, I got to enjoy a killer sunset for a bonus.

Good idea Michael. I'm enjoying the resource posts quite a bit. For the record, I kind of liked getting both in one but am not opposed to your idea and rather like the fact that you are so intentional about listening to the voices of your readership. Great modeling.
