I was speaking with a buddy of mine a couple or weeks ago and he is a cop. He said in the last year they have had 15 illegals he was involved with the arrest. Out of that 15 only 1 was picked up by ICE because he wanted in MEXICO. The other were never picked up by ICE and were released to not be seen again. Couple were drunk drivers, two sets or B & E with one having the owner on the property, one assault. It seems like the illegal community is being used as a weapon or tool against the American citizens for some purpose.... The schools are terrible and Bauer is one of the cheerleaders of how great they are even when the state education department put a two of the high schools under "double secret probation" and threatened to take them over. SBCSC has a graduation rate around 70% (which I think is overstated), the state average is like 82%, they spend $11,600 which is about $1500 more per child than PHM schools for the last school year with almost twice as many students. I am sure PHM is graduates a student that cannot read like that has been done here in South Bend on mass scale, and unfortunately I know one. When I graduated from SBCSC, my high school class graduation rate was under 63%. This is not funny anymore with a dying city that could not attract business in good times and with the current direction of the economy there will not be any new businesses coming to town when the education system is a joke. The city cannot survive on its largest employers being Memorial hospital, Norte Dame and OMG South Bend schools without federal and state government handouts.
