I have heard that janitorial positions with other companies pay $13-15 per hour. beni's not sure. I also currelntly work at public storage where I am making 9.50 per hour, the same wage I started at 2 yrs ago and their benefits package is very very poor.

well the nice thing they did with janitorial is they only make you wait 90 days before going to another job unlike everyone else that has to wait 1 full year. I have already started the process to move to another better paying postion.

I started with Boeing 3 1/2 months ago as a janitor. to "average wage" that is always stated by the media and such doesn't even include Janitors. Janitors start at $8.72 per hour. We are a grade A. For me, this job is just a steping stone, but there are others who chose to stay in this job and to be able to live on the wages they pay for janitors is s slap in the face. I feel Both Boeing and the Union are at fault for the wages and job clasification for janitors

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Machinists chief: strike fund good for 6 months | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | Local

some won't be able to and some will. for me, even though I have only been with Boeing for 2 months, I don't have a problem with the long hall due to the fact I didn't leave my previous employer and now putting in more hours with that employer. I feel I am better off then even some who have been there longer then me. I know of one family where the Mom has been with the company for many years, the Dad has been there for just about a year, the son almost 2 months and they have no savings.
