Thanks for your comment, Chris. I agree that there may be confusion about interpretation and presentation. I think the confusion comes from the title of the original blog post, which suggests literalism at the expense of interpretation (i.e., "face-value"); the statement about interpretation and farmers (which does away with face-value if you're in the process of interpreting/presenting); and "Jesus is simple" which is sort of ambiguous. Regardless, your comment is helpful.
