It was the writers of the initiative that added the new taxes, please educate yourself before posting such comments, oh and before voting for something! All these new taxes were written in plain english for everyone to read prior to the vote!

A whole lot a Amateur speculation going on in your comment, why do you still read articles on Komo if you believe it amateur hour? I don't know any of the FACTS of this case, but it sounds to me like the prosecutor failed in this case by not obtaining enough evidence to remove any and all reasonable doubt, the day that judges begin ruling by their emotions is the day that we need to be worried about.
That's not old school, that's just idiotic!!

The people that voted for this initiative got exactly what they voted for. If any of them had read and understood the entire proposal, these fees and new taxes were clearly spelled out, your anger should not be directed towards the state, it should be directed towards the writers of the initiative and all those who voted for it. Not only are we all paying more for our booze, but we also now must go to multiple stores to find the booze that we want because most stores only carry a couple of types of say rum or vodka, heck I was at costco yesterday and they only had 3 different types of rum, then went to the old state store near my house and they still carried about 20 different brands. THE PEOPLE GOT WHAT THEY CREATED AND VOTED FOR. Now you can stop your WHINING!!!!!!!!!
The point is, that they are supposed to be punished for not living by the rules of society, instead they get new tv's and the cable or satillute services to boot. I'm sure there are alot of law abibing citizens out there that don't have the means any of the above pleasures and some of those as a direct result from the crimes committed by these criminals. These criminals had no respect for other's rights, so why should they be afforded the same rights as law abiding citizens. I say that we put them on a deserted island and let them fend for themselves and shoot them if they try to leave.
Next thing you know they will be buying XBOX's for them to play on those new tv's. This is totally ridiculous.
Can you imagine the price tag they would put on it!
