Commentary Magazine : Barack Obama’s Staggering Incompetence

WHY did he suddenly go to Congress? Cameron lost Parliament. WHY does he feel the need when he didn't in Libya? Closer to the midterms. Russia's making noise. Syria is Iran's ally. WHY did he say he was still prepared to strike if Congress denies him the authority? To give him an "out" and the opportunity to blame the GOP before the midterms. Is Obama "incompetent"? Nope. And only those who do not understand his goals think so. His policies are WORKING FOR HIM.

Conservative Action Alerts : Federal Power Grab: Standing Army and Civil Disturbances

We no longer need a standing Army to defend the Republic. A Navy, yes, an Air Force, yes. An Army? Who is going to invade us - Mexico? Canada? A very large part of our current ground forces are Guard units, anyway that are, until federalzied for set periods of time, the responsiblity of the States. We even are at the point where a State can NOT use their own Guard to police their own borders - and the standing army won't do it, either. And the size of our military is crazy - why do our taxpayers have to fund not only the defense of America, but the defense of the entire WEST? They can pay their OWN way. In re: Posse Comitatus, since when does the US military have the right to go into the States without the request OF that state? I don't recall PC being overturned...

Commentary Magazine : The IRS Story Keeps Getting Worse

.. and I'm supposed to go to work and give-away a large part of MY LABOR so these jerks can spend $50MILLION on self-serving entertainment videos? How many taxpayers worked ALL YEAR, sacrificed their own living standard, maybe took out college loans for their children, maybe didn't go on a vacation or didn't go out to dinner or didn't do lots of things so that these thieves could make their videos and go to some conferences to waste time AND money? Screw that. Stop paying taxes - then they won't be ABLE to waste YOUR MONEY.

Commentary Magazine : The 2012 Election Is Over; the Benghazi Scandal Is Not

My understanding is that it's even worse than that. My boss used to fly spooks around - in Vietnam (DFC) and later through mushroom clouds when nations tested nukes above-ground. He still has lots of contact in the Intel communities. The version he has heard from his intel contacts: 1. When an ambassador calls 911, Standing Orders are to initiate a rescue Op. NOTHING is required to SEND the op; and ONLY POTUS can issue a Stand-down order for this Rescue Op. 2. The laser designators used by the SEALs on the mortar pit ONLY WORK when in close-contact-communications with an on-station attack asset. The only assets that link to the laser designators are F/A18, AC-130 and armed drones. If nothing is on-station, the designators simply don't work. 3. Who owned all F/A18 in-theater at the time? Adm Gaouette; he was relieved within days. Who owns all AC-130 and armed drones in-theater? General Ham; he was relieved in days, as well. So the facts seem to be that a rescue op was launched automatically, When advised that the op was underway, Obama cancelled it. Adm Gaouette and Gen'l Ham either argued against it, or simply their acting on Standing Orders (which Obama arguably would have known about if he ever showed up for his PDB) got them fired. Issa must put both Gaouette and Ham on the stand or we WILL NOT understand what really happened.

Evidently the author has not heard of the 1947 National Security Act which, among other things, created the USAF, as all his cites in para 1 are to Army/Navy/Marines, "among others," and he glaringly omits USAFA while mentioning Army and Navy undergrad and grad institutions.

At least The Boss' boring stories were about throwin that old speedball by you... Obama's glory days were the destruction of the economy, jobs and the future of America... It's amazing that those most hurt by Obama's policies - minorites (Black unemployment highest EVER, Black youth unemployment highest EVER; total sustained unemployment highest EVER) and the youth (who now can't find a job thanks to their votes for him) still support the guy who has trashed their futures. Who said education was bad in America?

Commentary Magazine : Why Are We Releasing, Not Exchanging, Taliban Prisoners?

Accepting battlefield parole (agreeing not to engage in further hostilities against one's captor if released) is against US policy for OUR troopps - but we are doing it for our enemies - an enemy whose religion instructs him to lie to infidels.... Why does this not surprise me coming from the most anti-American president in our history? Here is Part III of The American Fighting Man's Code of Conduct: "If I am captured, I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy." And what kind of military leader would free enemy combatants, captured killing THEIR GUYS, to go out and KILL THEM AGAIN? I guess there is no longer any honor among our top commanders, or they'd quit rather than carry-out this order. Is this even a legal order? If we put on trial our soldiers for accepting parole (and we have), is it legal to offer it to their enemy? Didn't we learn about just following any old order from Lt Calley and My Lai? More here: http://inthisdimension.com/2012/05/08/american-mi...

Commentary Magazine : Crucifying the Oil and Gas Industry

CA recently decided not to allow Barrett firearms to sell their .50 rifle to police departments in CA. Barrett intelligently responded by refusing any longer to service Barrett rifles in CA. The oil companies ought to respond to this kind of nonsense by MINIMUM refusing to deliver gasoline and diesel and any other petroleum products to the Federal government - ANY AGENCY - and MAXIMUM, by refusing to deliver ANY petroleum product to ANY customer in ANY Blue state, country or municipality. It's a free country and the Courts long have held viable: "We refuse the right to refuse service to anyone." If folks vote for governments that want to destroy an industry, why should that industry deliver their products & services to those people? As long as Democrats are elected by voters who want oil products, those voters have no cause for complaint when they no longer can get the oil their representatives demonize once in office, right? I know the Left cannot spell "CONSEQUENCES" or "RAMIFICATIONS," but I know the oil executives can.

Commentary Magazine : More Evidence Obama is Beatable

Liberals may, indeed, make up 23% of the electorate. But that same electorate gave Obama 53% of the vote. And Libs in Congress hold far more than 23%. The fact is that lots of folks tell pollsters they are conservative, but vote on emotion, not fact, and so vote for Libs.

Commentary Magazine : More Evidence Obama is Beatable

Couple of problems with the historical analysis. 1. At no time has the ENTIRE press been so in-the-tank for a president. Even when we had warring press in the 18th and 19th Centuries, each side had their own. With ABCNBCCNNCBSMSNBC & WAPOLATNYT etc., the vast majority of media is pro-re-election. And it's the media most American voters rely on for education about politicians. 2. Those who voted on white guilt rather than accomplishment are the ONLY reason Obama was elected. It seems irrational to assume those voters now will vote AGAINST the first black president. He's only president due to his skin color. Not factoring that into the current calculation may be politically correct, but it results in numbers lacking credibility.

Commentary Magazine : Muslims and the First Amendment

Then you don't understand the First Amendment. Ensuring that ANY group of people are protected from the speech of ANY OTHER GROUP is a violation of free speech. Doesn't really matter if you neither understand nor like that. The problem is, when those in charge change, they then have the precedent established to censor the speech of anyone they dislike. That is called "Despotism," and is a violation of everything the West has stood for and fought for since the Magna Carta a millennium ago. So, no, protecting the feelings of people from hearing those who dislike or disagree with them is the antithesis of freedom. What's next? Democrat rulers outlawing the speech of Conservatives? How do you justify your opinion and yet prevent that? And as speech is just verbalization of thoughts, how do you label speech offensive and yet fantasize - for it is only fantasy - that people's thoughts remain free? The answer to the problem of getting irritated by speech you dislike is easy: GROW UP.

Remember- Obama told an election-year audience in Denver that America needed a civilian police force at least as large and well-armed as the military. As in everything else he has said (fundamentally transform America, force energy prices to skyrocket), and like Hitler and Stalin before him, it is foolish in the extreme not to believe him when he says this stuff.

Capitalism works - if you do. The Left in America and Europe expects the rewards of capitalism without working for it. That is called "infantilism," not capitalism. And for the future to work people have to have kids. Not a single European cou try has a fertility rate anywhere near 2.1, which is replacement. Europeans and leftist Americans don't believe they should have to work for their demanded lifestyle - meaning, of course, they expect others to do the work and willingly share the fruits of their labor with the slothful - and they don't believe in the future enough to populate it. They demand we work for them and that our kids pay their debts. And he calls us immoral. This is why adults no longer take Europeans seriously. http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl... You know what you call a hard-working, freedom and liberty-loving entrepreneurial European?
Be nice to think that American leaders actually cared about the American nation. We are an industrial nation and need oil to maintain ou rliving standard and continue inventing the products on which the world relies. Feeding ourselves and our families, transporting ourselves to work, buying clothes and tools and the goods and services that create jobs across the planet is just a tad bit more important than the religious fanatics who imprison the once-important Persia. Just blow them up and put back in the fore those nations that ought to be in the fore and quit worrying about a bunch of 7th CEntury tribalists who have brought the world NOTHING in a milennium. Nuke them Nuke them now and start acting like a GREAT POWER historically acts. Someone will take care of Islam. Be nice if it's us rather than the Chinese, but someone is gonna do it.
