I live on SR and can vouch that I used Village Foods only as a convenience store. The inventory was always low after the windstorm such that you couldn't count on even the most basic things being available at the store. I just couldn't use it as a primary store since I'd inevitably have to go somewhere else to finish the shopping.

Even assuming they had the item you wanted in stock, some items were in fact double the price as mentioned above. On average my perception was that prices were 20% - 25% higher.

If there were a store on SR that had what most people expect for selection and prices, I'd definitely do all of my shopping there. However, given the size of the store, I don't think that Village foods ever even expected to be a resident's primary store in the first place.
