KOMO - Seattle, WA : Vancouver man gets 10 years in child porn case | KOMO News- Seattle, Washington| Local

Ummm, because quote, "she gave police, pornographic images of children from Becker's computer and various disks." unquote. The "various disks" leads me to believe she knew where to point the police. Like Becker spent time to point out 900 photos/videos individually to her? You'd think if she was going ballistic over CP she would of done that in the first few images, then called police. No, this is a case where she tolerate it till he went violent on her and she used the DV and the CP to put his ass away. It's called ultimate revenge, never heard of it?

You are correct. Groping carries a harsher sentence then killing. Anyone disagree just look up the RCW sentencing guide lines. You'll get less time killing someone in WA then touching them inappropriately, you get 1/3 off instead of the 1/5 for sex crimes, and you don't have to register the rest of your life! You know if a Child Molester is living next door but not if they are a Child Killer.

I'd do it. I'm worried to drive 3 blocks, knowing I'm over the limit, just to restock with another 6 pack. The cost is nothing compared to a DUI. This is a great alternative to drunk driving.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Stem cell reversal welcomed by some, shunned by others | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | Local

First off, this isn't from Embryo's. It's from Embryonic stem cells which are simply a cluster of no more then 200 cells that have divided from one. The research was being conducted from left over cells from abortions that were being thrown away. With simple manipulation they can be triggered to grow into anything including a heart or liver and even brain tissue. This is the treatment for Parkinson disease that many like Micheal J. Fox suffer from and have been waiting to receive.

Check your local library. I know the one downtown use to maintain all news publications on microfish back when and hopefully today it's all digitalized. Also check out the new Kindle from Amazon. No boot up time, instant on. Easy to carry to the bathroom, bed, bath, kitchen, work, commute, etc. I get the Seattle Times delivered wireless to my Kindle2 before I even wake at 5:00AM. I see this as the future for printed media. Now if Amazon/Sony can bring down the price of these eReaders and put one in everyone's hands.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : WA unveils site to help you keep tabs on sex offenders | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | Local

This is it, it's a revamp of the WSP site. The King and Pierce sites are still up. Seems like a waste of tax payers money to maintain so many databases, why not combine them into one state wide and make it a combined effort between city, county, and state to maintain it.

This is simply a rehash of the WSP sex offender site. They prettied it up at bit but has always been there covering the entire state. Missing is the big warning that using the information obtained from here to harass or harm an offender is punishable by law. Also missing are all the known convicted murderers, drug dealers, burglars of home, car, or business, etc. I'd really like to know if that scum is living next door to me as well.

Not only that but most cyclist ride right in the middle of the street making it impossible to pass. The new law should make it illegal for bicyclist to ride more then 3 feet from the curb. The further out in the street they ride, the closer I am to them when I pass. This law is only going to cause more problems between cyclists and cars. When cyclists start obeying the road rules then cars might start giving them more right of way.

Its about time the "other" form of child abuse be met with the same anger and changes in laws and sentencing as those who sexually abuse. Have anyone who touches a child in ANY way spend the rest of their lives on a registry after severing 20 minimum to life.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Man sentenced to life for child porn | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | Local

The judicial system _IS_ doing something about it. Along with every headliner about some poor kid getting it comes new laws and harsher sentences. 10-20 years ago most got off with treatment or a 5-10 year sentence, kiddie porn was a class C Misdemeanor. Now almost all sex offenses involving someone under 16 is a life sentence and there is the 3 and 2 strike laws. Most of offenders released today were sentenced decades ago before the sentencing laws changed. The civil commitment program was to keep incarcerated the worst of the worst and forced into treatment. And there is registration for life with level 3 offenders wearing GPS tracking bracelets. Unfortunately for the recent 13 yr old who was stabbed to death, no bracelet or flier would of saved her. :(

The guy has a prior for kidnapping and raping a kid so I am very happy to see this scum off the streets forever! I hope he is enjoys his early retirement! But sadly the sentence has less to do with the crime and more to do with the Three Strikes law. He could of committed any other qualifying felony offense that wasn't a sex offense and met the same demise. Washington state also has a Three Strikes law and now that our state ranks 17th in warehousing people (1 in 31 people) the State is building a new 600 bed prison just blocks from my house. There goes my home's value. Way to go voters, take discretion away from the judges and lets lock everyone up, only then are we truly safe.

Blah, blah, blah, everyone runs off at the mouth about lock em all up and throw away the key until it comes time to build a prison in your back yard, then it's "oh heck no", "no prison in my backyard!" Well with 1 in every 31 Washingtons in the system it's time to rethink treatment and education. And for the record, the food absolutely sucks, the so called luxurys; TV, Radio, Gym, Razor, Stamps, Paper, etc, etc are paid for by the inmates themselves. I know ;)
