It was purchased by domain name investment company XF.com Investments for an undisclosed sum. Symbolics.com is considered to be the "first" registered domain, because it was the first one to be registered via the appropriate DNS registration procedures. Symbolics was a Massachusetts-based computer manufacturer, which is now out of business.
