People can get a concealed carry permit once they reach the age of 21 and go through a training program in this state. To address your first two "arguments," the people who would get a concealed carry permit (whom the gun ban affects) are already armed. They just can't take their concealed guns on campus. In other words, they can have their gun on one side of the street, but not the other. You say that it would be scary for people to take guns to Pearl Street. Guess what, they already can!! And how many incidents are there? I'll let you look; it might take a while. The only people who abide by gun laws are people who follow the law, something that murders and rapists really appreciate. I'm 21 and I am getting my concealed carry permit next month. I wish I could defend myself on campus if someone decided to attack me. Oh well, I guess I can take solace, while I lay there dying, in the fact that the gun ban was there for my protection.
