I have learned the world is full of much better men than myself. But that is the point...those who went to serve under the present proscriptions are those willing to endure something "extra" for the honor they believe exists in serving their country. Good question RIght. I have always wondered what is the "pride" in gay pride? Although I, myself, am probably more full of it than a christmas turkey, I have always questioned the appropriateness of that choice of words. If pride is really to be confined to personal achievement, how can one be proud of something with which they all say is beyond their control or choice? If gays want to be proud of being gay...where does it end? It's really not unlike me saying I am proud the sun came up this morning. Either I had something to do with making that happen...or not. But like most of us, I suppose they want it both ways. Proud when I can get away with it. "It's not my fault" when confronted.

Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they didn't pay into Social Security, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform...in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We apparently have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop. This is a good way to begin. It is an idea whose time has come. Ask each person to whom you send the message contact a minimum of twenty people on their address list, in turn ask each of those to do likewise. In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one proposal that really should be passed around. Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ." You are one of my 20. If you don't have twenty, pass it on to whatever number you can.

The old rally cry was no taxation without representation. It is time for that to be turned around...no representation without taxation. If you don't pay taxes...you get no vote. I understand exceptions to be made for active duty/veterans and retired...but for those who have never put any "skin in the game" other than living off the largess of a working populace...sorry...you want representation? Then take whatever means necessary to become a contributing member, and let it be an incentive to do so. The adage attributed to whomever said "the republic is doomed when folks learn they can vote to themselves benefits from the public trough" is proving no more true than today. I am really not convinced that a hard working black man enjoys seeing his tax money pissed away any more than a hard working caucasian.

The writer should have included the word(s) ostensibly/self proclaimed when referring to them as a "group, which advocates for poor people" Only a puppy hating, rage crazed, right wing zealot could ever find a group that encourages pubescent sex slavery, tax evasion, prostitution, and filing of false documents as anything less than beneficent because it "advocates for poor people." I am going to buy stock in duct tape manufacturers, cause unless this Poser in Chief takes his marbles and heads back to Chicago I imagine many of us will need rolls of it to keep our heads from exploding over the next few years.
