But if such companies are renationalised in the future it should be done without hostility to the current owner, recognising that the world economy is so globalised that everyone owns a piece of each others pie. British banks suffered the worst during the banking crisis, leading to Spanish owned Santander taking over the Alliance and Leiscester, and then later the Abbey National. The worlds economy is heavily intertwined now, and if a foreign company buys another one here, it is more due to the success of that company rather than a covert agenda to domineer the culture here. While pulling out the EU is important for all of us, withdrawing from a globalised economy won't be a quick and easy affair , and we should not instantly assume that all foreign investment is a bad idea. Concentrating on helping British business become compteitive again, and ensuring public service industries are retained here for pride and control is a priority.
