Don't know if it's a problem...but... I have JB:en my 3gs with redsn0w 0.9.10b2, and I now have 5.0.1. So far i think cydia works. As I add repos i get diffrent errors...anyways I just think it's because everyone is useing it at the moment...Now I see that there is a new redsn0w (beta3), Should I re-jb? or is it's just fine as it is. And I should mention that I did not set up a "new iphone" as I needed some pic/contacts, (or should I say i used an old backup file). Why I'm asking is because of this "The b3 version of redsn0w fixes a problem where re-running redsn0w over an existing jailbreak would cause MobileSubstrate-based apps to stop running until MS was installed again./../" My noobish (2) question is, what does it mean?

I won the battle against my iPhone! the restore thing didn't work, had TSS on (TU), and correct ipsw and still it didn't go for the KO. but after updateing getting diffrent kind of messages (error 1013, 3910somthing?) I mange to kick it from recoverymode, with the fixer since TU didn't work propper. Anyways after that I did the redsnow thing again, cydia now works great!!! Well even do I won, iphone got the last word, I now have 4.3.3. But I'm still happy =) Just had to share this with me, happy as a 7 year old little boy getting my first iPhone =P hehehe... PS. thanks for the quick posts from you guys. ;)

I posted here a couple days ago and gave up after I got error 1015 and got stuck on recoveryloop forever..background info: 3gs, 4.2.1, 06.15.... But now I want to give it a second go, round one goes to iphone, and I'm going for the knockout now! Need all the help I can get.. Even when I put the device on DFU mode (thru redsnow) I still get error 1015. Yes, I'm useing custom FW "iPhone2,1_4.2.1_8C148a_Restore", still won't work...Even TU won't say what baseband I have, only getting "?". USB-port, other compuiters, got new Itunes, running out of options here..I just want the emergancy screen back, don't even care if it's jailbroken, yeah I said it =)... And one more thing: I hope I haven't bricked the phone, but I my have "check" in *Install iPad baseband*, but that was only because the turtorial told me to..i c l a r i....you fill in the rest =)... So: my problem is I'm stuck on recoveryloop, keep getting error 1015. PLZ help!!

It is possible to jailbreak and UNLOCK An iPhone 3GS with 4.1....(current: 4.0.1, 05.13.04) And the way to do it... step 1: Getting a Mac step 2: downloading Pwntool2 step 3: doing something with Pwntool2? "You must use Option-Restore, not just the Restore button by itself", what is option-restore?? is that when I download a firmware (from another site) and redirect it to itunes? step 4: haveing an iPhone 3gs with 4.1 unlockable and jailbroken

To be honest this blogg/site could be more efficent. I see alot of questions (often of the same kind) and it's confusing reading the stuff people are posting because it's not categorized....Well anyways I suggest that someone (could be someone from the dev-team or just a member who has the knowledge) to summarize on how we have it "today"...ex .... 4.1 .... iphone 2 = jailbreak works, unlock works, use this tools.. iphone 3 = jailbreak works, NO unlock, use this tools iphone 3's= NO jailbreak, NO unlock, No tools iphone 4= jailbreak works, No unlock, use this tools ....... 4.0.2 ....... ........ 4.0.1 ....... ...... (((( NOTE** this was just an example!!!! )))))
