I agree that Ned's death is more dramatic than horrifying but I don't think the scenes need to be exactly like in the books, the directors should have artistic freedom to create there own image of the story, for example, maybe in the TV version they'll decide that Drogo orders one of his men to do the deed and just sit and enjoy Visarys scream, it's up to them.

**** SPOILER**** I think just the opposite, Visarys coronation is better left for the imagination, it's more horrific that way, seeing the molten gold pouring down, hearing the screams, maybe seeing the smoke rising and Danny's face, people will always imagine far worse things than what you show them and the effect is greater that way. on the other hand a beheading is pretty straightforward and we all seen it a hundred times before so there is nothing much left to the imagination. ****SPOILER****

Tyrion's trial by combat is going to look very different than in the book, it depict as an old and slow moving man fighting a young and agile man. in the TV version it will be two old men fighting.

I don't know about that, there are about 20 series regulars and dozens more characters that in the background and pop out now and then and the viewer needs to know who they are, people like Rast, Hodor, Benjen, Syrio etc that are listed as guest stars but are mentioned alot.

It's hard to keep up with the ideas, I hate this Intensedebate system. anyways, Lord Tywin gave up on his son Jamie when he was captured by Rob and received Tyrion as his new heir and king's hand. so he kinda lost one potential lord and gained another.
