I posted this on Vent but I think it belongs here -

I received some positive response to my suggestion that we call this the WE THE PEOPLE MOVEMENT.

A Movement is more focused and determined than a "party".

The 912 project site has brought us together and we know what we're about. Now we need to take it to the streets or we're just preaching to the choir.

So how do we do that?

We need to declare ourselves as an organization.
We need an organizational structure identifying our leaders, officers, etc.
We need money.
We need a formal agenda with goals.
We need the legitimate recognition that comes with active, focused members.
We need to advertise, get press, and PROMOTE ourselves.

Look, we're up against an evil machine that's feeding the likes of ACORN and LaRaza. We need to pull together and pose a united front that is a serious force to be reckoned with. Until they see us that way they'll just see us as an annoyance and brush us aside while they ram through their "destroy America agenda".

I can see myself being very active in a WE THE PEOPLE Movement. That title says it all and I KNOW they will be afraid of us - and that's what we need.

Does anyone know HOW to pull this together?

Our new slogan -

WE THE PEOPLE

That's it. THAT should be our slogan. Those are the first three words of the Constitution and it includes EVERYBODY. It also succinctly and simply states what those fools in Washington FEAR MOST - WE THE PEOPLE!!!!!

Alot of people don't even know what a 912er is . "Tea Parties" don't conjure up the seriousness of the issues we're facing.

But a "We The People" Rally would scare the ever living s**t out of them! They would have to take us seriously because they couldn't attack us as right wing or racists or political hacks. We're the PEOPLE of the UNITED STATES and - like the last line of "the letter" says - '"We the people are coming".

What do you say?

In light of all the obnoxious Michael Jackson coverage, this really puts things in their proper perspective. This is the REAL AMERICA. Those people lining the streets are US. Those are OUR neighborhoods. And SS Beale could be any one of our relatives or neighbors. May God Bless him and his family.

My thanks to the officer who filmed it and to you for sharing it with us. I've passed it on to everyone I could.

For some reason I can't get my post to load in the Reply section. I have a couple of songs that I think would be good for our movement:
Mcfadden & Whitehead- "Aint No Stopping Us Now" The words to this song are PERFECT!

Holy Crap. I watched several of the clips on those sites and I'm sick to my stomach. I think part of the problem with getting people to pay attention to this stuff is that many of us just don't understand financial speak. Our eyes glaze over and it all seems way over our heads. But Gerald Clemente puts it in terms any of us can easily digest.

Thanks for sharing. I'm going to send those links to all my email contacts so they can see for themselves. Some of them are not 912ers and I often feel like the ant at the picnic when I bring this stuff up.

I just heard Lanny Davis say that a lot of Americans don't believe Sarah Palin is qualified to run for President. When will they stop beating that horse? How can he - and so many of the other so-called political experts - keep saying that when the MOST UNQUALIFIED candidate we've ever had is now sitting in the Oval Office???

They're all criticizing her for her decision saying that she would have been better off to stay in and continue to field baseless accusations and waste Alaska's taxpayers money fighting off the assaults instead of doing the business of Alaska. They just don't get it. They don't get what is important to Americans - she does.

I don't blame her for getting out. What sane person would want to continue to bathe in the swill pit of today's politics.

Question - do Senators and Congressman pay any attention to letters or calls they get from non constituents??? I get no traction with my elected "officials" so I feel like I'm wasting my energy contacting them. If I send letters to ALL the Senators am I also wasting stamps? They are all going to vote on Cap & Tax and it will affect ALL Americans so why just call my own reps if that is futile?

And, why can't we go after them for derelection of duty for NOT READING a bill that they VOTED ON!!! They are making LAWS and they don't even know what they're voting on - to me that sounds like people who should be FIRED or IMPEACHED or REMOVED FROM OFFICE. What can we do IMMEDIATELY about this???

I think this is a GREAT idea! My two Senators (Kerry and Kennedy) don't give a fig what we peons think - and they sure wouldn't respond favorably to us darkening their doorsteps!

Let's make them UNCOMFORTABLE as hell and force them to acknowledge us!
