I agree with you, but you are touching the tip of iceberg here, rather then root.. Human Rights reforms are taking place in almost every country, and specifically after WW2 the world community tried to redefine religious scripts not around politics, rather around human dignity... thats why we have seen a open condemnation of slavery and imperialism, at Asian/vedic front a open condemnation of practices like sati, and untouchability. Religious politics did opposed those reform's initially... but central figure of religion like Jesus, krishna, Buddha were not in contradiction with human rights reform... so the religio-political lobby never found a strong stand.. this is not the case with islam.. where central figure is a genocidal personality supporting slavery, murder, rape, stoning and worst what ever you can think of. This condemnation in open voice was/is/always be the key ! but this is missing in case of islam... speak and you will be charged with blasphemy laws.. Yes Poles are intolerant to gays, but not because of culture ... rather because the reform's reached them later due to communist history... but there exist a hope, which is that they haven't discarded the reforms .. and redefining the religion around human dignity.. Muslim world beside going into denial of UDHR, also had done almost nothing what can be said as reform.... reforms around Mohammed life will not even count as any hope at all... and we all know it somewhere inside !! yes its a difficult question, but if problem is political islam... then that also means that political stunts like blasphemy laws must be thrown away in garbage and Muslim be forced to face the condemnation... like hindus faced for untouchability, christians faced for imperial history etc etc. the only way to go is equal secular human rights to all ... no special concession for some religion !! and in secular i am also counting that politics keep out of sex, religion or caste, color etc...

Reality is that till the issue of inhuman teaching like throw gays from cliff; stone adulteress; show mercy to one another, but be ruthless to nonbelivers; O you who believe! Fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness; disbeliever mischief makers should be murdered or crucified... etc etc etc are openly condemned with excuses by muslims... till then there is no hope !!

telling Christians to do not sing about Jesus on Christmas is like telling ISCON to do not sing Hare Rama Hare Krishna... But argh, after thinking a lot about sensitivity i realize that singing itself is offensive as per Islam... they use to stone indians ( and even throw stones till this day sometimes on singing indians during navratri celebration ) in past, if the singing indians pass Muslim crowd or Mosque on street... Now when Singing itself is controversial as per islam, how will that Dhimi Director of Education Regine Aeppli prove that they are only objecting on name of Jesus... and not on entire way on which one celebrate its festival ? but the same Dhimi will not have any problem with slaughtering of animals in post ramadan... ah the sensitivity !! As a non-Christian European Minority, i am really sick on how "non-Christian" minority word is used to hide islamist agenda... sorry, but I must say that i love christmas carols, and a lot of christmas songs including "licht der in the welt gekommen", ah sorry referring that song is far more disturbing for Mohemmedians !
