I am in no way excusing the alcoholism, but just as I suspected, the "victims" were not telling the truth. We have have a witness that proves Raul was not the instigator. Don't be so quick to judge Obama Man.

I understand all the concern, being a former Boulder resident myself, but please be aware that only one side of the story has been presented here. It is clear from his injuries that he got the worse of it and unfortunately was too drunk to give his side of the story. I know for a fact that he has been threatened in this neighborhood before (it is not his neighborhood, contrary to the report) and has even had to physically defend himself against a group of guys who started lashing out at him in the same vicinity. It is simply not fair to present one side of the story without collecting all of the facts. I can assure that no one needs to feel threatened by this kid. My husband and I have been mentoring Raul since he was 10 years old and know him like our own child. His loving spirit and strong work ethic, despite his life circumstances, have brought us to have an upmost respect and love for him. He is a boy of high character and integrity who unfortunately has made some bad choices about abusing alcohol, like many other teenagers do. I cannot say that I know what happened, only that he would never hurt anyone in his right mind. As for the warrant for his arrest, the reporter should have specified that it was simply for not completing court-ordered community service hours that he was unaware he needed to serve for his charge of possession of alcohol. Many teenagers are charged with this day in, day out. He worked hard to earn the money to pay the fine for that charge and would have also done his community service, had he been more clear about the requirement. This was a case of a typical drunk teenager acting out, who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He is an incredibly caring and compassionate kid who needs to be cut some slack here.
