http://www.thetarrpit.com/ : quack quack.

How in the world is Emerson 7 months old already?? I swear he was just born yesterday! And Dawson looks like a bona fide little boy, nothing baby-like about him anymore. :-( Why do babies have to grow up so fast?

http://www.growingupgeeky.com/ : Why we won't be returning to play group

One of my pet peeves is when parents pay absolutely no attention whatsoever to their children. Every time we go to the park or playground I have to fend off older kids from trampling my 2-year old on the slide or pushing him off the climbing rocks because he's not going fast enough for them. I just stare at their parents (who are either engrossed in conversations on their cell phones or texting) until they feel the heat of my anger on their heads. I probably wouldn't go back. If the kids are all older and expected to run around and play while the adults socialize, then that's not really doing Carina any good. I would try to find a group with more babies her age that she can interact with, and who won't try to pick her up. :-)

The House of Burks : 3 Day Potty Training: Day 2.

Well, the school actually told us that he wanted to go into the potty when his friends went, but he would just sit on the potty for two seconds and jump off and say "I did it!" So we figured he was close enough to ready to at least attempt to potty train. He really did great with it!

It's so nobody can right click and copy my pictures. It's been done before, so I'd like to make it a little more difficult for would-be picture stealers. I don't think it records your IP address, or if it does I can't find where it's stored!

That is very encouraging! I love hearing about successful VBACs. My C-section wasn't a bad experience or anything, but I got to just sit around and heal for a couple of weeks last time. This time I'll have a toddler to chase around and tend to, so if I can give birth vaginally this time I'd like to do that since I hear the recovery time is faster. Thanks for following!

The House of Burks : 28 Weeks. Hello, Third Trimester!

Welcome! That lovely pregnant glow is probably mostly sweat. :) Oddly enough, I never was able to sleep on my back until after I got pregnant with my first. I would always start on my side and end up on my back during the night. Now sometimes it is the only way I can get my hips in a comfortable position. I've actually been sleeping on my back propped up on pillows (for the heartburn) with my legs butterfly style. Good thing our bed is a king, because I am taking up a lot of room!

The House of Burks : 100 Days

This is seriously so out of character for me. I'm not generally a neat person, and I thought I had long given up on the Battle of the Pet Hair. But for some reason it is really bothering me lately. Hopefully the hair hatred will continue. Yet CJ's new room sits virtually untouched, and that is the biggest project that needs doing before the new baby comes. Priorities, mine are screwy.

The House of Burks : Confessions of a Lazy Mom: Birthday Party Edition

It's just so hard being the ONLY people in our immediate family who live out of state. I don't feel right asking everyone to drive three + hours to us for a birthday party, and even if everyone were able to come then I wouldn't really have anywhere to put them. His birthday time with family is just going to have to be something we can squeeze in on a visit home. I got your e-mail the other day, thanks! I think I'm going to try to do it tonight after CJ goes to bed so I can tinker around a bit. I should really learn more about this stuff!

The House of Burks : Douchebag.

I see this junk all the time in our garage. This douche, the driver of the gold Mustang that thinks her car is so awesome that she deserves to take up TWO spots on the first level, and the giant pickup truck that never fully backs into a space. I mean, I could understand if the guy that drives the Aston Martin wanted to take up two spots. You spend that much on a car, then feel free. But the crappy old Mustang? No. Not on the first level.

TUSHY!!!!!! CJ gets a little nakey baby time after his bath, but he is usually sitting on a towel. The other day I changed his diaper in the living room and he wrangled himself away from me to run around, and then peed on the floor. Lesson learned.
