Debbie,now Obama is forced to play Solomon.GM is too big too fail even though they were run very badly.Too many suppliers and dealships going out would be a calamity now.Chrysler,well not as big so they either sell out to Fiat or go bellyup.Somebody has to make these decisions and the right only complains but has no alternative.Obama inherited this train wreck from Bush who put off the tough decsions and thank God we don't have Sarah the stewardess Plain as VP and MCain who has no clue as President.We will be fine in the long run.You guys are too shortsighted.
Tim, the biggest challenge we got is how we manufacture cars in this country.Japan thinks long term the USA big 3 auto makers only wanted quick profits with huge SUV's and Trucks that were mostly poor quality and you got to admit how many people really need those gas guzzelers.(NO I do not want to dictate what people buy.)Now GM is going down the tubes and don't just blame the unions that is always easy for the right to pick on the working union man.Recalibrate!! We went from a huge war time economy for WWII and then switched to a consumer manufacturing market.We need smart people making new and better products not just all fast buck artists.
Tim, those jobs and industries are not coming back.You gotta face reality it's now a global economy that countries with cheap labor (yeah sweat shops) are going to do the jobs we had in the 1950's &60's.That's why Obama is pushing education.Our future will be in high tech jobs and hopefully not the financial casino jobs on Wall Street that really wrecked our economy with the help of liberals and conservatives.The hou is for Houston,Tx that diversified after the 1987 oil bust and now is handling the downturn better than most.

Angus,OK Fine I'm with you about enforcing the laws. But what about how 50 caliber and AK-47's that go from Point A to Point B? That means putting gunshop owners in jail like the one on trial in AZ for selling guns to people without ID that went to the Drug Cartels.Does the NRA just deny that 90% of guns to Mexico are US even though even Fox News has established that it does.Does the NRA have any obligation to help the Obama Adimistration control the flow of guns?And do we put the Military on the border?You want a movement ?And that means having to make tough decsions and just not complain and talk about it.
