It's sad that the entire building had to be demolished. I hope this doesn't remain a blighted empty lot for long, and that the city expedites whatever plans and permits the property owner submits.

If there were a Hoboken 7 train station, it would make more sense uptown where there are less mass-transit options. If it was close enough to the 9th Street Light Rail, or near the Hoboken/Weehawken Border, a new 16th Street Light Rail Station could be built, connecting the 7 to the rest of Hudson County.
