Running with the Pack Podcast : Running with the Pack 71: Wetsuit, Back on Bikes, Looking for a Logo, and More

Sound quality: I've been listening forever, usually through my iPod headphones but sometimes through my iPod connection in my car, which is through a Pioneer radio. I never noticed any problem with sound levels before Episode 71. However, in this most recent episode I noticed that both of you were fading out and getting very quiet from time to time. Reading the comments here, I think it must be the auto sound leveling that Allan mentioned. I was listening with headphones while running at the gym so the volume level was on the high side and yet I found myself adjusting it throughout the run because of the fading in and out.

I've heard nothing but good reports about Muddy Buddy. I'm too chicken for that type of mud run/obstacle course thing but I really do think they look fun.

This has nothing to do with anything but I recently came upon these two new Pennsylvania races and thought I'd share them with you two. They both are new this year and seem a little less serious and more about the fun, silly side of running. I'm going to run both -- including the full marathon in mid-June. Oddyssey Half Marathon (May 29): http://www.oddysseyhalfmarathon.com/ The ODDyssey remembers that running is fun. Though a serious race, this half marathon is coupled with optional twists throughout the course including costume contests and unique obstacles to make it a race you will never forget. If you register, try discount code: Earlybird (not sure how long the code will last but they were giving it out earlier this month at an expo) Uber Endurance Sports half Sauer Half Kraut full & half marathon (June 13): Guten Tag and welcome to www.uberendurancesports.com, a joint venture of a runner and a pastry chef. http://www.uberendurancesports.com/ Beer & pastry! Who can resist?

OMG, I wasn't sure if I should laugh or cry while listening to this! I've never taken an ice bath and after that, I'm not sure that I ever will!

Running with the Pack Podcast : Running with the Pack 63: Resolution Run, Stiffness, New Year, New Gear

FRIGID for those of us from PA too, Jim! I started off doing 2/1 intervals too but my running partner (rookie at Goofy) was not having such a great day -- cramps in her feet of all things! Anyway, she was struggingly from Animal Kingdom on and I had to keep coaxing her to run as the miles got longer and then we just wound up walking. And freezing. All in all though, a good day. All of my friends (6 of us) who ran Goofy finished with varying degrees of success. I personally had an easy day since I had more in the tank than my friend, but I'm still pretty sore. Today was actually my 16th marathon and it was the slowest one since my first one and it was more than an hour slower than my last Goofy! Crazy! (but fun)

Helen (hmonkeyruns) checking in from the Goofy challenge! Day one is done and we all seem to have survived the Orlando snow -- really it snowed! You better think twice before you sign up! Actually, don't think twice. If the race is still fun in sleet, and snow, it will always be fun. Also, I tried to comment the other day from my iPhone but I don't see the posts. Very mysterious!

This is hmonkeyruns -- just checking in to reveal my identity! I'm Helen and I've written i to the podcast before. Most recently about Roctane gel but you'd probably remember the slideshow of the Goofy challenge more than my other boring gel question. I had to register to use your new comments and I use hmonkeyruns for all my online registrations.

Socks: I wear Champion socks that are a mix of cotton & tech fabric that I get in giant packs at BJs wholesale. I've have a couple pairs of Ininji socks that were gifts and I like them but I have to admit I don't run in them -- I use them post run if I have some hot spots. Philadelphia Marathon: I'll be there for sure! I'm more likely to meet you guys pre-race since I am super slow and also a local so I'd be showing up at the Hard Rock straight from the race and I don't think you'd like that too much! I really hope you are wrong with the dire weather predictions for Philadelphia. I can't take another year of lousy weather....the last two years were just brutal! Is Jeff running NYC this year? I can't remember if he got into the lottery or not. I'll be up there cheering on my husband in NYC so I'll be sending out good vibes and cheers to Jeff if he's there too.
