You have to swear under oath that you were not driving and then rat out the person that was." Here's what happened to me: my husband ran a red light when he didn't come to a complete stop before turning right. I got the ticket, because my name appears first on the title. I went before the judge, who asked me if I was driving. I said no, he asked where I was at the time, and I gave him that info. That was it. I wasn't asked to "rat out" anyone. I wasn't asked who was driving, only if I was, and I sure as heck didn't volunteer it. Ticket dismissed. Washington state doesn't photograph the driver, only the license plate. There's no burden of proof issue here at all. They assume you were driving, and if not, then it's dismissed. Not sure how this is crooked. If you have issues with red light cameras in general, that's one thing. But when there's videotape? Even my husband had to laugh--he swore up and down that he had stopped--but he clearly ran the red light. It is still illegal to run a red light in WA, is it not? However, I think the issue isn't how *often* pitbulls attack and/or bite, it's what happens when they do. Training only goes so far...pitbulls are unpredictable. Every news report I've ever read about a pitbull attack in which a person is injured includes a quote from the family that owned the dog, and it usually goes something like this: "Oh but Fido has always been such a good dog! We've never had any problem up until this incident..." Personally, I'm not taking that risk (remember the pregnant woman in CA who was killed by her very own pitbull?
