GeekCast.fm : Website Profits #1: Introducing a Show for Business Websites

It's clear here too. I like to listen to shows in the pop-up window, never have a problem with that. Try from a different computer on another network, perhaps it's something in-between you and this server.

GeekCast.fm : Affiliate Marketing by the Numbers

Thanks for pointing out BrandVerity in a post referenced here. Found a bunch of jerks squatting my company name, personal name, and several dba's my company owns. I knew they were doing it on a keyword side, but now I see PPC too. Best, Justin

Thanks, but you are barking up the wrong tree. You might want to run along to a message board, I make mine selling services and advertising is beyond secondary. Glad to hear you like the blog, visit around, lots of good stuff here. Best, Justin

Trust me, I'm not kicking any dog, pet, or person. Rather busy lately. I'm kind to my four-legged friends, people are situation dependent. Best, Justin

GeekCast.fm : GeekDads@Home 14: Morning Boob and Dental Spikes

That retainer shot is absolutely horrifying as the very first thing to see visiting this site. I don't know if I should listen to the podcast, or, wait, does that say "breastfeeding" in your tag. Okay, I'll listen.

GeekCast.fm : Podcasting is Dead (to Me)

I've been thinking of going Mac, with underlying BSD Unix, I'd get the best of both worlds, but that one button mouse confuses me. Even DEC Vt1200's had three-buttons. Is Mac audio / video production that much better?

GeekCast.fm : Podcasting is Dead (to Me)

I can relate, spent 2 weeks setting up a call with a copywriter in Australia to support one of my sites. Finally, on the call Skype + Call Graph hang my system. While later we had a good conversation, I didn't have any audio for my website. (Great choice of Suicidal Tendencies' "Institutionalized", that's exactly how I felt!)

GeekCast.fm : Is it OK to Post Affiliate Links in Twitter?

Yes, you can post an affiliate link if making a direct recommendation to your followers or a specific tweet of someone you follow. Do what every your audience wants, why couldn't you have a twitter alert of the latest coupons, offers, or niche related news? It's just mixing it up the irritates people. (Ps. Sad to hear about Andy Bourland.)

GeekCast.fm : The Upside of the Proposed California Affiliate Tax

Shawn, Internet Success Spider is great, but if you are working cross platform then look at Mozilla plus SeoQuake plugin -- you can do all the same things, plus, you can do them in the browser. I use this plug-in to find prospective advertising channels, plus it highlights rel=nofollow and gives other link feedback not in other tools.

GeekCast.fm : Website Profits #2: Website Optimization Across Your Business

Thanks @Amulekone, I've posted another program for your delight. I just wish more business websites would plan, 4 out of 7 that I came across in a recent project didn't work without [www.] and 3 in 7 have 302 redirect on no domain to [www.domain.tld] -- two obvious opportunities for improvement.

Portland Business Community : I Just Came to Hang Out

Thanks for covering my article on using social networking. Here are two other ways to benefit from social media that weren't mention in my original article: -- Profile the achievements of your customers, -- Highlight your individual community involvement, Do these things right (i.e. non boastful informational posts, useful information, rather than pitching) and you'll demonstrate value to your network, which attracts prospects to you. Just like meeting someone in person, let's keep social networking one-to-one connecting. Wishing you all the best. Sincerely, Justin Hitt Strategic Relations Consultant

I've been there, did 30 minute workshop with buzz breakouts and didn't have my lapel microphone turned on. Nothing but dead space. Attendees benefited, but I had no content to show for it. I feel for you.

MissyWard.com : More on Cynical Marketing...

You are right Missy. Many of the marketing professionals I work with do pro bono work for their favorite charities or hold positions without pay in trade groups. My honorariums are usually given to my favorite charities for local speaking engagements -- it's the difference between a long term prospective and a short one.
