Daily Camera.com: : BREAKING NEWS: Sandusky convicted on 45 of 48 counts - Boulder Daily Camera

strange that this newspper did not inform more its readers on a also recent local hockey coach who accepted a plea bargain recently, seems they " the direction of both groups Rocky Mountain Roughriders and Boulder Hockey " were well aware of the possibilities and refused to act upon them, could a lot of problems been avoided? could they have shown more respect to the family and youths within their program by investigating and informing them, without forgetting to have a discussion with parents of suspect simply to provide an opportunity so they could have intervened much earlier to possibly prevent any harm or further regretful behavior. Maybe a full clean up there is what we need, one resignation is not enough, people deserve some answers and what were the hockey directors and boards of these teams doing with the whole situation, damage control probably, who knows? only they can answer this, but some major changes need to happen and soon within that program. CAHA our state governing hockey body seems to be a little to soft on this issue but let a team get 15 penalties and they will suspend the coach, now something wrong here, too many penalties out you go but child sexual misconduct is okay for them, remain silent and wait out the storm hoping it will go away, when something else comes up, somehow just seems not quite right and no reaction usually means something wrong somewhere within, Penn state cleaned up their act, now some pressure needs to come for these groups to clean theirs up, for the benefit of our youthful players and children. Speaking of CAHA should we not have a little digging into this board as well because there seems to be people on the board who should be doing something else, most not qualified hockey executives according to many and this is not only confusing but possibly a time bomb waiting to explode, bias may exist for some of them, why? they are on the same boards or involved with one or the other of the hockey boards in question or in some cases both, according to rumor mill this makes for too much control by one group and democracy is no longer the rule of thumb. Newspaper & parents need to look into this, do you not have people for this aspect and readers need to speak out, sad that youth suffered and one young man pays for something that may have possibly been avoided happening, could be wrong but....... did they not get caught lying by a reporter on TV. Are we becoming too none caring as a society?
