Is tom and jerry a good idea? let me put it this way; i'm pondering suicide just so that i wouldn't have to see hollywood rape any more classic franchises. it is a horrible idea. i vote that there be a new layer added to hell reserved especially for the executives who greenlight an abomination such as this one.

/Film : The /Filmcast Question of the Week: What Videogame Would Make a Good Movie Adaptation?

The Burnout series -- where the object of the race isn't to finish first but to destroy your opponents--regardless of collateral damage. Dozens of gorgeous cars being annihilated by other gorgeous cars as they whip through the city at ridiculous speeds--throw the cops in there and you have an explosion/car crash bash. Get someone like Alfonso Cuaron to direct it with seamless editing and action-packed long-takes...oh, man. Like the battle scene from 'Children of Men', but at 100 mph. And the characters could be genuinely interesting -- I mean, the elements of loyalty and betrayal juxtaposed with vicious, violent battle-racing? Where someone you trust might not hesitate to ram you off some winding cliff-side road to a thousand-foot death in the fray? Tell me the possibilities for brilliance aren't limitless here.
