I guess I would categorize myself as an "old-new fan." I started following the team when my favorite player (Ronaldinho) joined the team way back in 2003. I fell in love with the team and what it stands for. I vowed to be a cule for life.

I have seen the team go through some of the best times in the short time I have been a fan, but I will be there cheering if there are bad times ahead. I grew up a Red Sox fan, so I know thing or two about supporting a team that would break your heart year after year.

As a relatively new fan (I first started to support the team in 2003 when Ronaldinho joined) I can relate to newer fans. Although I agree with the post, you cannot be a "fair weather fan" You must support the club good or bad. I fell in love with the team, their philosophy, and their history. I went back and learned more about their past, and when Ronaldinho was sold, I knew that I would not leave with him. I was a Cule for life.
