I think Alder Hey and the parents have acted with dignity in difficult circumstances. My main issue is with these Christian groups targeting vulnerable parents. Note this is not a criticism of Christianity which I believe does far more good than harm.

Without wanting to burst your bubble, this exact same proposal has been agreed where I live and has been proposed in 3 neighbouring areas. Assuming we are not anomalies the prices won't stay low for long.

My guess is from an electoral perspective it will make little difference. Whatever the right/wrong about his comments, very few people are voting due to the party leaders views on foreign policy.

I also wonder if getting rid of 1p and 2o coins would hit charities as most of mine are sent that way.

If the bookmakers business model cannot survive this change, then maybe the business is not a viable one.

I see no logic in making cannabis illegal and alcohol legal. I say legalise it, regulate it and more importantly tax it.

It's hard to come up with great intellectual debate about this. The parties basically come to a decision on based on self interest and come up with an argument that fits this.

If conservatives thought it was in their benefit to support it they would, while labour would oppose if they thought it would cost them votes.

I think 18 feels about right. I can understand how labour and SNP want it to go down and torys don't. All parties are acting in self interest which isn't unusual for politicians.

My guess is that the voting age will go down next time we have a non Tory government and will be left at 16 when the torys return to power.

I would argue that people vote for both parties for selfish reasons.

I thought the data suggested labours better than expected loss was not actually due to the youth flooding to the polls?
