I know this review isn't about Kanye, but Graduation is where Kanye found his sound? Of the first three, Graduation is by far the weakest. Late Registration and College Dropout are both 10/10 hip hop records. With that, I'm not buying in to Tyler and Odd Future.

It is hard for me to explain why I like this more than Colors. All I can really say is that I feel like this EP "matters". I don't think it is nearly as "prog for the sake of being prog" as Colors, and it helps that each song on the EP is distinct. It feels, at times, like a realized TGM. TGM had moments of brilliance that were overshadowed - Swim to the Moon being the best example; awesome riffs, but no cohesiveness at all. This, on the other hand, has all of the killer riffs with actual cohesiveness and transitions. I don't know if that made any sense. Regardless, it is nice to be excited about a new BTBAM release.

I am proud that 2010 saw mainstream hip hop actually do something worthwhile (Kanye, Big Boi). Although it was also the worst year for rap ever (Waka Flocka). Maybe hip hop read this article.
