We have been charged for this 911 system for 20 years.It first started out being 11 cents.I remember when it started because I called and asked what it was for.When asked how long this would apply,I was told how ever long it took to pay for it.We also pay for hearing impaired,even if you don't need the feature.Now 911 is going to install new equipment for digital,so this tax will never go away.

I wrote the mayor weeks ago when I first heard about this and told him I was glad he was giving Beck the key.Strange people want to say Beck is crazy,but no one has come foward to dispute any thing he has said.Beck would not say anything that was not true,and he has facts to back up everything he says.Wake up people!
Sales tax will be 7.75..then you have the food tax that is 2%..when will gas tax go up? Property tax will go up,not counting electric bills are going up..I have lived in NC my whole life,and thought idea of leaving NC is more appealing to me everyday.I agree when election comes around in every office,pay attention to what these people are voting for and if they are not working in our best interest,get them out of office!

Tina,I don't think you understand the meaning of "pursuit of happiness"We were born also with life and liberty also.It is up to you what you do with your life to pursue happiness...educate yourself,get a job.If you decide not to pursue your life,then why should you have anything?Healthcare is a responsibility,not a right.People are responsible for their own life.It is not up to everyone else to give it to you.In case you haven't heard,the USA is broke,so how are we suppoe to pay for this?Raise taxes in a recession?Even the richest of the rich cannot pay for this healthcare.
