We all (well most!) will respect your decision. But is it right? Isn't blogging - communicating your views directly to the electorate and the wider public - at the heart of what you do as an MP.

This is a serious point. In this day and age, isn't this blog more important than some other things that MPs are expected to do?

Your points are well made but they do omit the need for Labour - in opposition - to re-establish some credibility with the electors. This needs to happen on economic policy, and Labour needs to ensure that its MPs are seen to be trustworthy and honest. Phil Woolas told lies. He should be in no doubt that is not acceptable. He should shut up.

Then you, Tom, can make your comments about the Tories and Libs from teh position taht the Labour house is in order.
