Hospital used to be free of all children's visits and would limit the number of visitors per patient. Now in all too many facilities, the whole family moves to the hospital when a relative is hospitalized. Not only is that not good for the patient in many instances, it makes for much more work and expense to the hospital facility and the staff, thus increasing costs for medical care even more. Hurray for those with the foresight to institute this move.
