KOMO - Seattle, WA : Boeing engineers union has strike contingency plan | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | News

I belive you are right drbecker. If you look at what Boeing gave the stock holders of McDonell Douglas and what they got in return it really looks like they were the ones doing the buying and keeping Boeings name because it was working well and it had the reputation that was provided by the employees. The same employees that have dug them out of holes before and will do again.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Contract talks for Boeing engineers extended | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | Boeing

To Speea I hope you get all you can on this contract because as anyone that has been there very long would know it won't stay this way long. It seems that Boeing seems to follow the economy by about 2 years. I expect that the layoff notices will start about the first quarter of 09. It isn't about being greedy as a lot of people like to put it. It is about getting what you deserve and want while you can. The Boeing company is a great place to work and it has good benefits. But they like to call them world class so they should give a world class contract to the employees that make the promises they give to their customers a reality. To those that aren't in this contract your imput is important and it is welcomed as long as it doesn't cross the line of name calling and insults as it did in this forum on many of the comments that were posted while the IAM was out. Just a thought..... Good luck.

Trying to gouge every contract? What a joke. We have given up and settled for take aways in health care coverage and settled for no gwi increases for a couple contracts! How the .... is that gouging? I for one feel we deserve more than we are getting and this contract is the time to get it....

You don't have to belong to the union here either you can withdraw and give donations to a non-profit org.

you don't know what you are talking about. First of all it is 23000 and right now it is paying them 600.00 a month and it will continue to pay that until the end of the strike. no matter how long it takes. you seem to think that the union is making money hand over fist. it is nothing more than a business that is there for the members. believe me i don't agree with everything it does or says and i don't agree with all the politics. but i do believe that I am better off with the union and what it stands for then without it. its easy to blame from the outside.

if it bothers you so much why aren't you working for boeing? sounds like you want to make the money but not willing to do what it takes to get it. there is a reason that boeing has the payscale it does and it isn't out of genorosity
