I don't think you have it right. The organization applied for full status (and the funding that comes with it) and the school said no because of their policy of exclusion. Nowhere is it mentioned that a gay, lesbian or nonbeliever tried to gain access tot he group and was denied.

I couldn't agree with you more. For as long as I've been on this site, I've never been able to understand mr_strat. Out of one side of his mouth he claims to be a righteous god-fearing Christian, and there's nothing wrong with that, but out of the other side he spews hate, racism, bigotry...and the list goes on.

Actually, Spain already had troops in Iraq when the 11-M terrorist attack occurred in Madrid. The terrorists didn't influence them to intervene; the attack was a consequence of, not a motivation for, their participation.

True, but Spain is an example of a predominantly Catholic country (over 90%), and it was the fifth country in the world to legalize gay marriage.

I agree with you--cheesecat's comment is very stereotypical and off base. But are you not showing "quite an ugly face" too by doing exactly what s/he is doing--insulting a whole group of people, i.e., those in academia?

And why do you think this will be the next agenda? I don't think indoctrinating school kids is part of any "gay agenda." Go to the secretary of state's page and look at the results for the mock election in which elementary, junior and senior high Washington kids voted. The overwhelming majority of them voted to approve R-71. From the standpoint of a supporter of R-71, they don't need indoctrination. There was obviously discussion at the schools about this issue. Is this to be blamed on the "gay agenda"?

We need to give kids more credit. Whether they agree with same-sex relationships or not, it can only benefit them to be exposed to differing viewpoints. It will help them to form their OWN, EDUCATED opinions and ideas on many issues affecting our society. That's not a bad thing.
