KY3 : Missouri couple warns about energy drink dangers | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - Springfield, MO | Loc

The parents simply wanted to warn others about the dangers of energy drinks, all you have to do is read the title of this article for that information. It doesn't mention they are going to sue the company or are upset about it. They are simply warning others to be careful. If they had known that 2 energy drinks could cause their kid to have a seizure I'm sure they would have limited him on how many he could drink. Yes some people can drink 8 energy drinks a day and be fine, unfortunately for this couple their son could not handle 2. They simply wanted to warn others about the risk, I know that I will be more careful about how much caffeine I consume, and watch for any dizzy feelings or an increased heart rate.

KY3 : Missouri may lower the minimum wage | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - Springfield, MO | Local News

I wonder how many of you people are the same people who complain about teenagers for being worthless members of society whenever they are at the mall texting and horseplaying with their friends. Yes there are teenagers who would be just as helpful or useful at a job as an adult, the point of this law however is to encourage companies to hire teens who need training, think of it as an Internship law. If you can hire a teen for less pay than you are more likely to hire them and train them for a future job with hirer pay. Companies can currently hire a college student and pay them WAY LESS than $5.75/hour to work for them for "experience" so why is it such a big deal that the goverment is trying to create a law for teens to get the same experience?

Just because minimum wage is $7.25 OR $5.44 doesn't mean a teenager or ANYONE for that matter has to accept a minimum wage paying job. America is the land of the free, ANYONE can work wherever they want or start their own business. The higher minimum wage is the worse off the economy is, higher pay increases inflation which causes some serious issues, study some Economics before you think everyone should make $40,000/yr. +

Just because Teens can be paid less than adults doesn't mean they have to be. As a teenager I NEVER worked a job that paid minimum wage, I made almost double minimum wage at 3 or 4 jobs. If you are a mature teenager (which anyone with a family should be) than your employers will see that and you can apply for jobs that pay more.

KY3 : Missouri House approves drug testing for welfare benefits | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - Springfield,

If you need welfare than you will gladly pee in a cup, if your test just happens to get mixed up with someone who failed the test (what are the chances of that??) than you will gladly pee in another cup to prove you aren't on drugs. Yes its sad for people who have to be on welfare or live in subsidized housing but this law will help those who NEED the help and avoid wasting my tax dollars on drugs for whose who are abusing the system.

KY3 : K2 incense provides high for some, scare for others | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - Springfield, MO |

Regardless of the pot legal vs illegal debate, K2 is an "incense" and smoking it seems ridiculous, just like huffing glue or compressed air. Getting high off of things that were intended for other purpose is stupid and extremely dangerous! Yes I have smoked cigarettes and yes I do drink alcohol (in moderation) but I have never tried drugs because personally the risk of an OD isn't worth the possible benefits, however I think that making certain drugs legal would be the best thing this country could do. Making items legal requires the Goverment to monitor them and make them safer for those who chose to participate in such behaviors. However the goverment is currently too concerned with closing any sort of sexual business "strip clubs" to improve moral of this great state so I'm sure K2 is at the bottom of their list.

Sadly the same redneck trash who dump animals also dump humans. Spay, Neuter & Adopt!! I tell everyone to use www.petfinder.com when looking for a pet, quite often they have PUREBRED puppies with all of their shots for cheaper than a breeder plus you are saving a life. I have had 4 dogs that were all rescues and I wouldn't do it any other way.

KY3 : Grieving mother begs drivers to stop texting while behind the wheel | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - Sp

There shouldn't have to be a law to ban texting and driving, its common sense! Yes texting and driving is dangerous but so is eating, smoking, changing radio stations, reading a book, programming a GPS (all things I have witnessed being done) Drinking and driving is illegal but it still leads to thousands of accidents every year, a law isn't going to stop people from doing it. Stories like the one this mother is telling will effect people and hopefully convince them that a text message isn't worth it.

KY3 : Springfield landlord wants to rent to churches to house homeless | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - Sprin

There are lots of places cheaper than this, while it is nice that this landlord is willing to help these people out, the churches could rent more apartments for more people if they looked elsewhere. I know as a recent college student that giving up things like WiFi and Cable can get you a cheaper apartment. I would think if you were sleeping on the streets you would be extremely happy to have a roof over your head regardless of if it had internet, than again why would a homeless person have a computer anyways???

KY3 : Missouri troopers have written few tickets for driving-while-texting | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - S

I've been driving for 8 years and texting for 5, I am aware of the dangers of texting and driving. I don't even dream of reading a text when I am in high traffic or on a road I am unfamilar with but yes I do text while driving occasionally. I have been in the car with my Mom when she has tried to answer a phone call and drive and that is scarier to me than most teens texting while driving. I think the dangers of texting and driving not only come from being an unexperienced driver but also being unfamilar with your phone. Todays teens spend so much time with their phone that it is second nature to send a text, sadly adults are probably a greater risk to be using a phone while driving. I don't think a law needs to be passed to make texting illegal while driving, it should be a common sense issue like driving slower in the rain. Just like a law making drunk driving illegal, it won't stop accidents from happening, just stop law abiding citizens from doing it.

KY3 : Salon owners object to proposed new warnings on tanning beds | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - Springfie

We are talking about intelligent adults, I don't think additionally signage is going to change anything. Common sense says that tanning increases the risk of skin cancer, but honestly most people are vain enough to ignore the risk of developing cancer to have tan skin. They don't require McDonald's to put up a sign that says eating their food increase the risk of becoming obese but I still know if I ate a Big Mac everyday I could end up weighing 400lbs.

Unrealistic no, aware of the dangers that a young girl can be in late at night when alone. She didn't have to go to the Mudhouse to study that night, she could have stayed home and studied alone. I have never felt the need to put myself at risk, if I couldn't find someone to go with me, especially downtown late at night than I wouldn't go, not worth the risk of being attacked. I'm not stupid or unrealistic, quite the opposite.
