Comin in a bit late but LIVE FROM DETROIT, THANK YOU ALL WHO ARE SENDING MONEY AND GOOD VIBES TO SO MANY IN OUR CITY. It's a truly wretched situation, especially from a public health standpoint, and the outpouring of support from all over literally the WORLD has been incredible.

Besides helping people pay their bills, which is needed desperately, the organization doing all the on the ground work around shutoffs is the Detroit Water Brigade (www.detroitwaterbrigade.org) which has set up an Amazon wishlist for supplies. We need a long term solution, of course - until then, we need coolers, and bottled water, and sanitation equipment. And it's actually easier for us to get stuff directly rather than money. If you're able & willing to donate, I will send you a personalized haiku of thanks. TY beautiful Toasties!!

POSTIN THIS DOWN HERE JIC: the "reparations bill" referenced by TNC, HB 40, was written by my incredible Congressman (&employer, full disclosure) John Conyers, Jr. who has represented Detroit for nearly fifty years. He is the shit, and dealing with some stupid legal technicalities that may keep him off the ballot and force him into a costly write-in campaign (against a dude CURRENTLY FACING TRIAL FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CHARGES. Real cool guy).

Anyways, all of his work on this bill and many others may go out the window very soon. Google him and send us money, or come to Detroit and help us and live in my bomb ass riverside apartment, or just sending some good vengeful feminist vibes our way would be so helpful :D

My partner is misgendered constantly for having long Fabio hair, but it's mostly funny because he's a) a cishet dude great at counting his blessings for being such and b) 6'4, so when the dudes who say something rude ("that's a huge bitch!") realize it's also a dude who happens to be waaaay bigger, they get frightened and run away. FUN WITH MISGENDERING.
