Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : What if?

this is amazing and i promise it CAN be done! my church has hosted 2 concert/worship events to raise money for first, an orphanage in el salvador and then a boys' rehab center in mexico. the first time, we raised $10K in one night, the second time, we raised $19K in one night. not to say that we did anything special, but when you share your heart and passion for rescuing God's children, people can't not respond. praying the holy spirit moves people to give. $30K by NYE should be nothing for us :) off to donate my portion now...

sucks that it was hard for you, but it's fun and adventurous for some of us. you kinda make it sound like we should all be bummed, yet grateful that someone "understands what we're going through." :\\ why do so many people automatically make married > single?

1. no rule that i know of. but most of my married guy friends have the rule anyway. 2. it's possible, but very very rare, and those friendship have very clear boundaries. or we look at each other and think "you're awesome but EW!" and in my mind, this is kind of different for singles and married peeps, no? b/c a little alone time (sans boomchickawahwah) for single dudes and chicks is called dating. which is a good thing, in my book.
