In the coming months, I beseech all of you to look closely at the candidates for any office and be sure that you are voting for candidates who want to protect your freedom and not to take it away. This will be the most relevant election we hve ever had. If we don't elect freedom loving people to office this year, then we will probably loose our freedom for all time to come. Don't fool yourselves, this is the turning point for our future freedom for us and our heirs for all time to come, I pray the people recognize how important this election is. In 2008 we made some mistakes, but in 2010 if we strengthen the control those mistakes have started we will never live in freedom again, I kid you not.

Healthcare is not a subject that was addressed by this bill there is nothing in the bill that has anything to do with healthcare, if you read the bill the only thing in all of the over 2000 pages of the bill is how the government will control you from cradle to grave. If we were to have a bill about healthcare it wouldn't be about controls it would have language abouthow healthcare could be improved and lower costs. It wouldn't have language calling for 1600 IRS agents to enforce the forced control of the citizens of this nation. True healthcare does not force the citizens of a free nation to do anything.

The real subject here is not healthcare since this bill does nothing to improve healthcare all it really does is take contol of healthcare. This bills true intent is to remove another of our freedoms, the freedom of choice. Our founding fathers never intended government to take control of healthcare, since it was not a specified power of government. All unspecified powers of government were left to the individual or the states. I don't believe any of the state constitutions specified that control of healthcare is a power of any state government either. When our federal government passes laws beyond the scope of our constitution all they are really after is power over the people and the desolution of our freedoms granted to us by our constitution.

As I read all of the posts here, it strikes me that we are the voices of the American people and we are being ignored. We all want to do something that can be effective in restoring the will of the people and we look back to the words of our fore fathers for guidance. But the people we look too and try to emulate weren't the common people of their time, they were the elected representatives of their time who were meeting in Philadelphia and Boston to try and come up with solutions to the tyranny of their king. Maybe the solution to our problems should be solved similarly, by running state elections here on the internet to elect a group of people from each state to represent our views. Let the internet become our method of coming together in a united voice that we can utilize. Right now we are thousands writing individual ideas and views. This makes us feel a little better like we are doing something, but we are preaching to the choir. We aren't really accomplishing anything until we make ourselves into a power to be reckoned with. Can I get any support or alternate views on this?

You are right in so much as WWII did fix the economy. The reason it fixed the economy wasn't so much the massive government spending as it was the jobs that were created and the fact that the population was rationed their use of gasolene, sugar, meat, and many other staple goods. But they did this willingly because these things were for the war effort. Another point that not too many people point out is that WWII started in 1933, but we didn't enter the war until Dec 7th, 1941 and the war ended in 1945. Our participation only lasted for approximately 3.5 years whereas Europe was embroiled in war for 12 years. Their economies were totally destroyed during that timeand we were the only nation left with its infrastructure still in tact. We were providing goods and money to the rest of the world which boosted our economy even more.

4 of 4 There have been more technical advances made in my lifetime than in all of human history. It has been, frankly, mind bogling. All of this has brought about a faster paced society compared to the laid back past I grew up in. All this leads me to the point that we as a society have taken a turn that is not beneficial to the perpetuation of the American ideal. We need to straighten out our education system. I don't know the statistics but I do lnow that our education system rates very low in a global scale, whereas we used to be number one. We used to be number one in many categories, but no longer we are failing from within. No one could ever have defeated us, but we're getting to the point where we are disintegrating from within and like the Roman Empire the wolves are at the door and they are going to take us down.

3b of 4 I am amazed at how many dedicated young people we do have in our armed services. Lord knows they are few and far between, but don't get me wrong. I thank GOD for our young service people. They are the glue that is holding our new society together. Now if only we could get their votes to count. Getting back to the theme of this blog. The younger readers of this, and by that I mean under 30, probably don't understand what I am saying, but those older even though you fall into the beginning of this decline probably have an incling of what I am saying, from what you have heard from your parents and others in the senior generation. I never expected to be a senior citizen, but here I am. I've seen the advent of television, then color television; computers, then laptop computers and pocket computers; astronauts circling the globe, then the moon, and now a space station; etc.,etc., etc.

Par3a of 4 The family unit started to disintegrate. Familys didn't sit down to dinner together anymore, we became a nation of fast food and freezer dinners. Then the education system began to disintegrate. We couldn't hold back none performing students since that would affect their self worth. In sports everyone got a trophy so they wouldn't feel like a looser. They were allowed to dress like slobs but every guy had to have $100.00 sneakers. watch Jay Leno's allstars and he interviews young people on the street and it just proves my point. 8 out of 10 people can't answer the simplest of questions about the world or our country and yet these are the people that are now in the majority of our voters. It's no wonder that we are heading for socialism. These people have been given everything. Manual labor is a bad word to them. Military service is unthinkable for the majority.

Part 2 of 4 I employed several young people who I felt were under educated by our schools. They couldn't write in proper sentences, had no sense of geography, and couldn't do simple division. They had never learned to respect their elders or society at large. In the few years since I went in the service and established my professional life I found that society had digressed to an uneducated, undiciplined, disrespective group who had no self respect in their dress, language, or way of life. We wonder how this country has reached the depths that we are now experiencing. I believe it started in the schools. First the teachers lost the right to discipline their students. Mommy and daddy didn't have or want to take the time to teach their children respect for rules and elders, but they also didn't want anyone else to do so since that would make them look bad.

Part 1 of 4 I am 63, born six months after the end of WWII, which followed on the heels of the great depression. My parents having lived through both taught me appreciation for what I had and to make the most of it and make it last. I attended a one room country school house in the Ozarks until 1958, whereupon we moved to Los Angeles. Most of my friends were brought up as I was. I never even saw or heard profanity until I was 13. At 15 we moved again to Idaho. We respected our elders, authority, prayed in public schools and started every day with the Pledge of Alegiance. I attended college in the 60's at a State University. Unlike the liberal colleges of the Eastern States and Large cities, we had no demonstrations or violence. After college I did 10 years in the Navy both active and reserves. I went on to start my own company which I felt was quite successful for 20 years.

This is supposed to be a government of and by the people, however, the people cannot submit legisaltion that they want. Such as, term limits, lower pay for congress, no life long support and medical. The only way we the people can get the things that WE want will be a march on Washington, demading that we be heard. I propse the march begin in Seattle on june 1st. Leaving there slowly across the country gathering more and more people driving cars, trucks, tractors, horses, bicycles and anything else even walking. As the group travels they pick up more and more people until we reach Washington with several million people. Along the way we would clog the highways with the potency of our resolve. How about it will anyone join me at the starting line? Obama stated last night that his economy moves are lile a large ship and it takes time to turn and gain momentum. I say his ship is the Titanic and has struck an ice berg, the American public and it's destined to sink.
