<title>Antiwar Newswire : Israel readying new arms to meet Iran challenge</title>
<link>http://wire.antiwar.com/2009/11/25/israel-readying-new-arms-to-meet-iran-challenge-2/#IDComment44814683</link>
<description>Mindless insanity in this AP story is terrifying. Sure, it&amp;#039;s obviously the customary war propaganda for the benefit of domestic Israeli politics. However, the question is ... why hasn&amp;#039;t Israel already attacked Iran&amp;#039;s nuclear facilities and military? Probably because both China and Russia have huge multi-billion dollar long-term energy investments partnerships with Iran. I&amp;#039;m sure that even the toughest hawks in Israel realize that a military attack on Iran would be responded to as a major economic attack both China and Russia. First Israeli strike on Iran would lead to a massive economically crippling increase in the global price of oil within hours. And besides that, Israel has no no long range bombers. It&amp;#039;s F-15 and F-16 aircraft would need to refuel over Iraq at least twice for any conventional bombing mission to Iran and back. Even the Bush administration refused to allow this. Forget about Israeli submarines with nuclear missiles. That&amp;#039;s just World War 3 neocon madness. US, China or Russia would stop that for obvious self-interests. </description>
