You should realize they already make more than almost all teachers in the nation. And, working longer days? Please... you're never going to convince anyone that working a few extra hours means anything when they have that much time off every year. I'd love to make 55k, another 15k in benefits and work 9 months of the year, where do I sign up?

In general supporting higher teacher pay is a good thing. But, this is a joke, these teachers are already among the nations highest paid. Teaching in fantastic buildings, with great kids and great community support.

How many people reading this can say they will recieve a guaranteed raise every year? Or, have health insurance or a retirement plan... Heck, I could enroll in our 401(k), but can I actually aford to do it? No. Would I even get matching or profit sharing if I was? No.

These teachers are a joke and a stain on the reputation of teachers everywhere. They cry about money when they already make more than almost all US teachers, they say the education quality is being degraded when they are already among the top in the nation, they already get guaranteed raises, they get countless days off every year, a health and retirement plan and still they cry.

Grow up. Both of my parents are teachers and they make half what these whiners make. So what if you can't live in Bellevue, hardly anyone can. They should deal with this sh!t economy like the rest of us. Not cry like a bunch of babies. I mean honestly, who goes into teaching thinking they will make 55k a year? Let alone more? Pathetic...

Wow. It only figures that someone who was only in it for political reasons (aka painting himself green pre-election instead of call it what it actually is, "city sponsored block parties') would leave that loophole wide as day.

I suppose it makes sense that we get fined for parking on streets we pay for infront of our own houses when you take into account that the whole thing is forced on us by this windbag in the first place.

Speaking of cars, why is it that 90% of the douches with the prius' always seems to have the giant house that wastes 6x as much energy as my apartment and my 'gas wasting' old car...
