Maybe our neighbors to the south along the Cedar would also like to weigh in on our poorly
thought out Sinclair decision to screw up the water table. This could be a real CAUTION sign to
anyone thinking of moving into this city and starting a family. Don't drink the water......EVER. That
would include Fido and Fluffy. This attitude of disregard for possible health issues in the future
is only trumped by the disregard for the health and safety issues since 2008. The city's Vision for the future should include federal lawsuits (good we will have a new court house). Good we havae the concrete tree it may be the only one growing along the river in the future.

State DNR reaffirms city can dump at site 1 (Mount Trashmore). Guess their spokesman can say that because he is in Manchester, NOT CR. Mr. Eyerly states that they intend to do just that! Mr. Eyerly who do you work for? The people or the city that is up to it's neck in past poor decisions? Poor decisions regarding flood warnings, poor decisions about recovery, poor decisions regarding Sinclair fires and now the dump site. Most people that are wanting this unlined site to take on more poison don't live here currently ;will never stay here and will be dead long before their decisions begin to poison the water table and the future residents of Cedar Rapids. This is
complete lack of good decisions. Shame on you DNR and the city.

Mr. Wieneke is also delusional . You"ll never see him walking around in the flooded areas talking to the people. I believe his mind set was bulldoze everything from the River to 13th ST. and Ellis Park to Czech Village. Oh, yeah he said it was because of concern for people being flooded again and their lives at risk. He sure loves all those Sasaki/City revitalization plans that are now being crammed down the taxpayers throats. He and Mr. Podzimek are clearly unpopular with the people. The "real "people not the social elite but the worker bees.Remember them?

All of the above! Does that come as a surprise? No to the general public who have already
tuned in to the special interest boys.

How about we save about 1300 chimneys that belonged to people who needed homes?
Mr. Flood Czar.........exactly who are you representing?

Can Mr. Wieneke reach any further into the gutter to get a "laugh"? Perhaps he is familar with
the term because it is what many have come to believe epitomizes him. Lets get our focus off our Viagra pumped self esteem issues and show some class.

Yes, if our forefathers had been getting a government payout we would not have the Acropolis, Parthenon, Pyramids, Colosseum in Rome, Stonehenge, Mayan ruins, The Alamo etc. to treasure. Actually we did save some mud huts unfortunately there would have been more but greedy selfish people ran our Native Americans off their lands and rounded them up on disgusting reservations. Surely you do not think that smokestack stands between CR and moving forward.......poor government did that all on its own. The cement tree I do agree was a farce.

All I can think about is how wonderful it would have been had there been this much passion and
desire to save the RR Depot with it's beautiful oak beems and benches, marble floors and historic architecture. The depot that saw local men off to three wars. City destroyed it to build a parking ramp next to Green Square. And the Montross Hotel with the Grant Wood mural....... a grand building. Torn down for an Office Bldg. A touch of class from our past. If it wasn't for all the open houses and bogus public comment gatherings put on by the city and their CONSULTANTS the only hotel left downtown would close. Mr. Prosser defends the "tree" yet he is all for bulldozing river neighborhoods with REAL trees. Thank Goodness these people did not live in Rome.

Amen. Time to trim the non essentials. Do we really need a cultural Liason at $2000 per month.?She was making $4000 per month until someone got the word that is new on the team. Some of these departments are very top heavy. How many people does it take to make poor decisions? At what many of management are getting paid they should be able to professional handle things out of state consultants are STILL getting paid to do. Public relation and Communication person, PLEASE. A sharp administrative assist to the Mayor or City Manager can contact media resources. If you need free help.....there are a couple flood advocates who are able to get the word out locally and nationally. $$$$$$$$$$$$

Christian, good luck in your career whatever it is. One suggestion........for what you spent Victory Enterprises should have focused on this.........more compassion, less plastic , be approachable.
Drop the gay marriage thing......dig deep into your ancestry and Christianity.......no one elects a person who is cast in bronze before they serve the people. Key word here is "serve". Sometimes
political experts only see green when giving advise you can have this for free.
