you still don't get it. this is not about part time vs full time which would obviously affect pay regardless of gender or a woman taking maternity leave, this is about if a man and a women of comparable education and work background start an accounting job more than likely the man would be making more, so the maternity argument doesn't work since an employer has no way of knowing if a woman would need or take extensive time off due to child birth. so if a woman and man puts in the same time and choice shouldn't they make the same amount

you don't have to work in wisconsin in that case just like you wouldnt go to a right to work state with few unions if you wanted to collectively bargain. correct me if im wrong but i haven't heard of any teachers in wisconsin speaking out against the unions it's only the people on the side lines that are upset at the unions

you mke it seem like collective bargaining or unions are mandatory, it cant hurt the people who knowingly sign up for it and it can't hurt the people who don't because it gives them the freedom to negotiate on their own.
"collectivism is not the answer for workers. Individual achievement and the government being able to be agile enough to enforce labor laws is the solution. " i agree it's not the answer for everyone just like the union and collective bargaining isn't for everyone but for those who chose to collectively bargain they should have that choice just as you have the choice to bargain on your own they aren't bad or wrong because they feel it's in their best interest to bargain collectively

i understand how you personally feel and thats fine you don't have to join a union but why try to undermine those who do feel it's in their best interest to join a union.

who are preventing people from standing on their own two you certainly can't be referring to unions which aren't mandatory for anyone to join

i commend you on that , but the fact is the majority of women today are paid less than men at comparable positions so this is not about the women such as yourself but more about women who feel that it's in their best interest to collectively bargain by joining a union, I understand that you may not need the assistance of a union but that doesn't mean that unions aren't needed

i can commend your strength and self confidence, but all women do not poses that and they may benefit from collectively bargaining for a better salary then they would of had gotten on their own. just because you don't need the assistance of a union doesn't mean other women or men don't so why demonize them for that. you shouldn't just be against something because you personally don't benefit from it
