Jennifer Moody : Moody: Takes on Tiger, tooth and Fat Tuesday

I'm with your boss on the carousels. Personally movement at all on a web page irritates me. Maybe I'm just old, but I like letting my eyes be able to "settle" on stuff. I'll decide what I want to look at without you shoving crap in my face. Wow - that really sounds like cranky old lady stuff when I read it, but there it is. Good job on trying to go all out cash. I think that the adventures you have in doing so are newsworthy. There are some (cranky old ladies apparently) who still remember when ATM debit cards were a novelty.

Jennifer Moody : Moody: Princess math and other career thoughts

Oh, Jennifer - this is too precious. I hope you keep all these posts and put them in a scrap book to give to them when they graduate or something. Or maybe at their first baby shower, when they're getting ready to become a mother. I love reading these.

Jennifer Moody : Moody: Concerts vs. CDs = no contest

You're ever so much more adventurous than me. There was a time when I too enjoyed a good concert (Huey Lewis and the News was my first) but now just the thought of driving, parking, the crowd, the noise level...... frick. Getting stressed out just thinking about it. Cannot relate - as a boring middle aged woman now. Would probably bring myself out of concert retirement for a good Barry Manilow show, but until then I'll happily tune into the cds, XM Radio, and the goofy 80s channel on the upper limits of my cable box. Yaaawwwwwnn...... it's late. Getting this old lady to bed.

Jennifer Moody : Moody: What is 'American'?

Love the jury trial, shooting range and definitely burgers. I'd have to say visiting some cool museums to check out the American Indian history displays. If budget weren't an obstacle (and it always is) I'd take them on a regular Brady Bunch tour of the Grand Canyon. Funny how few other things pop to mind since most of our stuff originated elsewhere (Did we make up french fries? Surely not. Why would we give the French credit if we had?). Guess I'd add some things that were Oregon/American. Crater Lake, Oregon Beaches, High Desert - all the usual cool natural places. And I'd fill them with lots and lots of M&M's - which I missed dearly during my stay in South America.

Jennifer Moody : Moody: Phone rant addendum

You DO have a seriously cranky reader on your hands. There are a LOT of things that would be better for us all. Can you imagine the millions of lives we'll save if we outlaw junk food? Oh, the heart attacks we'll prevent! Or we can outlaw knives, you know people kill with those things, plus I cut myself the other night chopping veggies for my salad. Very dangerous things. The point is legislating EVERY LAST aspect of human stupidity and carelessness cannot be done. But I'm sure, given our current path, we'll just keep marching in step until every aspect of the human condition is legislated because, after all, someone might get hurt or killed because someone out there is bound to do something stupid. We need more laws. Many more. Lives are at stake.

Jennifer Moody : Moody: Seven ways to tell you're a grownup

Turned 40 myownself this last year. I go to bed at 8 - unless there's a party, in which case I stay up all the way until 9. The SECOND I turned 40 I started having problems digesting certain foods. Frick! I'm with you all the way, including hanging onto the things that are eternally youthful (for me it's puddle jumping, singing out loud REALLY LOUD in spite of having no real singing voice, and laughing at really stupid things - though this last one now makes me pee my pants).

Jennifer Moody : Moody: The cell phone rant

AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! You have exactly articulated my frustration with the whole thing. We simply CANNOT legislate everything on the planet. Our "Do Something" disease will be the end of us someday. AMEN!

Jennifer Moody : Moody: No money where my purse is

I think I'm just missing some sort of hole in the fabric of my existence that cries for filling with an $800 purse. I don't recall ever paying more than $20 for one. My most recent favorite I bought at a garage sale for $2. AND I only own 2 purses at a time - one to use every day and one that I use on trips, small, easily slings over my shoulder and holds some cash, my drivers license and some lipstick. None of this for any kind of moral stance - like I said I think I lack some sort of hole. If I had unlimited cash I might bump up to 3 or 4 purses, but I swear I'd still be walking those back aisles of Target looking for one on clearance.
