haha yeah sorry that broke down fast
In the ""biz"" this is known as an aspect-to-aspect panel transition, it's generally used to create mood in a single moment where time stands still. Sorry for the technical answer lol - whether the panel succeeds is up to you. :)
Like most things in OP it started to emerge, and I think the work retreat story was the turning point. I wanted this (above) story to have a pleasant mundanity, as old friends filtered back into Eve's life, having grown older and closer to the person they'll be.
There is no meaning, which I guess is a sign of the times it was made! I had the domain name for another stalled-out project, and decided to use it for the webcomic instead.
Yes, it always made sense to me that Eve's fate was locked, regardless of the many other details that shifted as the story evolved. I saw Olly's burning as a final "fuck you" before Eve takes the reins of her life.
I agree this was some of our strongest collab on OP. I was energized by the work you were doing, and was focusing more closely on the rhythm and texture of my layouts. I'll always be grateful for the times we were able to make such leaps.
Love to hear your thoughts on the reruns, and I'm sure others do as well!
Thank you, and I'm glad you like it! I always get the itch to make more gardening-related stuff but my free time is usually filled with gardening itself. I suspect I'll have more time to contemplate this again when the growing season is over.
It was, though I forgot about it. one of the reasons I appreciate the comments on the comments. :)
No, there is not meant to be any relation.
I regret the naming convention for sure. It's something I really didn't consider at the time. I was trying to amplify the cruelty of Eve's world by making her a "joke" in a variety of ways. The price of committing to a strip for so long was also committing to all the foolish decisions I made.
