This is routine with Presidents when they first enter office. President Bush did the same thing. That is why it is called executive privilege. It is unfortunate that the media did not do its job in properly vetting this President's past so that the public is not suspicious of such things. We now have to live with only what we know and hope for the best. Time will tell us more as the shoes drop.

This government does not torture anyone let alone goat herders. Also, enhanced interrogation techniques were used only on high profile detainees where the government had enough evidence to justify such interrogations. WHEN will you liberals understand that these Muslim extremest /terrorists are hateful, dangerous and want to kill us? That includes you, your children, parents, friends, etc... Are you willing to settle for a passive approach to obtaining that kind of critical information while many innocent lives are in imminent danger. To allow people to die in such a situation is more immoral than having to interrogate a murderer.

Will any member of Congress stand up and dispute the waste of taxpayer money for our Government to write such a report and point out the unforgivable insult this aims at our military veterans? I hope that at least one of them will investigate the origin of these statements and identify the author/authors who put this forward as well as the supervisors who signed off and sent it out. We the people want transparency. Keep this issue alive. Call your congresspeople and demand some answers. This is a subtle directive to all law enforcement federal, state and local to be on the lookout for folks with conservative values. Chilling!

However, please do not offer them the kind of external anger that they will gladly use to label us . Stay confident and unified, but KEEP YOUR COOL. Do not come to the tea party intoxicated or armed with anything other than a sign and a strong voice. Remember that they are waiting for that one person to lose composure and act like and idiot so they can play it on the evening news. Let us be on guard and behave accordingly. ISEEU, You are so right. I grew up the same way. My family also talked politics and religion. The grown-up's conversations were thoughtful, probing, rich with passion and disagreements were respectful. I learned much about such things just by hanging around the table. I have tried to instill in my own children that the responsibility of citizenship includes informing oneself of facts when it comes to politics and religion and being brave enough to form a set of principles and present them to others. I hope that this forum helps me and others to keep ideas and information flowing. I will keep talking about politics and religion with anyone who wants to as long as I have a tongue.

No, O'Reily, Beck, Hannity and Limbaugh are more powerful right where they are. They are the best soldiers we could ask for to fight the potential fairness doctrine. Also, both individually and collectively they bravely expose the growing liberal bias in our American Media and the hypocrisy of many politicians. They do it with research and facts. The left hates this because the facts get in the way of their spin. I think they are more effective as media culture warriors (thanks Bill) than they would ever be as politicians.

I am glad that people like you are speaking out. Keep repeating what you have said here to everybody and anybody who will listen. You are not whining. You have finally had enough of allowing the new administration to guilt you about your lack of concern for your fellow citizen. I will bet that not only are you self sufficient by working hard, but I'll bet you are generously caring for your own family and neighbors when they need help so that they TOO aren't running to the government for a hand-out.. We need to reclaim our wages and let the politicians know that we are quite capable of tending to ourselves, our families and our less fortunate neighbors, and that WE THE PEOPLE will decide where the handouts go. The reason that the postal service has become more efficient is because people have found ways to communicate through private, not government run, entities.The postal service, like printed newspapers will soon become obsolete. Due to the entrepreneurial spirit and the free market, more people have more options and the healthy competition has resulted in better services. This is precisely the argument for free market healthcare. Three cheers for capitalism.

I am an American citizen who recently lived in Europe for three years. I must tell you that health care for all does not mean quality or timely health care. In Europe there is still a "class" division in the delivery of care. The doctors work for the State during the day seeing common citizens in public hospitals and work at night for the wealthier class who can afford extended coverage in private hospitals. I had the unfortunate experience while I was there of having to go to both the public city hospital and later a private one. It was the difference between a run down highway motel and the Ritz Carlton. A person only has the choice to enter one or the other if one happens to be wealthy. We must try to defeat any legislation for government run healthcare here in the US. (FYI - I was in Europe serving my homeland)

Please think about what you are saying. This is exactly what the left did to President Bush. They demonized him with comparisons like you just made. I beg you not to do that on this forum. We can win our arguments without these kinds of attacks. I understand your frustration with the subject here, but we need to pursuade others with thoughtful ideas void of this kind of name calling. I don't want to see this forum end up like the Daily Kos. We will lose our credibility and others won't want to join the project. The left will point out these kinds of comments to claim we are haters and dividers. They will be much more afraid of our movement if we show that we remain respectful but strong in our disagreements.
