BuzzerBlog : GSN Picks Up "Million Dollar Password", Adds Classic "Card Sharks"

Part 2: Match Game gets good ratings on GSN, and it's still pretty funny to this day. We can all play along with Feud, and I still get chills listening to Dick Clark say "For One Hundred Thousand Dollars, here is your first subject. GO." All 3 are good shows, show they should show ONE episode of each, not two episodes. If they had Match Game, Feud, 100K Pyramid, Hollywood Squares, Jeopardy!, and Wheel, they have a good schedule from 9-12 (8-11 Central). Any schedule looks better without the cheesy reality shows. Why doesn't GSN test a show with a week-long special and see how the viewers like it. If it passes, it should go into regular programming.

BuzzerBlog : GSN Picks Up "Million Dollar Password", Adds Classic "Card Sharks"

Part 1: One very quick note about Eubanks Card Sharks: One episode had the educated guess question "How many people have ever lived?" The same question was Sam Murray's Million-Dollar question in the tournament of ten. Card Sharks had it as somewhere in the 80 billions, and Sam's answer was 100 Bil (rounded down from 106.5 Bil.) Okay now to my main points: I honestly don't understand why they want to put two of the same show, hosted by different hosts, back-to-back just to fill up an hour of television. If they want to keep the variety levels up, they need to have an array of different shows. It's like having a buffet table with only bread rolls on every plate. Perry's CS was more game-showy with the eggcrate number counters and the 70's glam. Eubanks' CS kind of reminded me of Alice in Wonderland with its set. Oddly enough, I actually consider the 80's CS to be one of the few game shows that improved in a later version (but they had to blow it with the 2000's version).

BuzzerBlog : "Don't Forget the Lyrics!" Casting; $100,000 Top Prize

I'm very glad to see DFTL return, and I'm not too worried about the top prize being cut. If they had an hour to do a show, they could easily cut the money ladder by 10 on every step and play basically the enitre game the same way. However, with a half hour, they might want to play the same game for the first 5 questions, and have a 100K song in a similar way that primetime had. With 5 songs, make 10K a safety zone, and if they go for the 100K, bump the garuntee up to 20K. 6 songs in a half hour sounds good to me, but they'll have to keep the same drama that primetime had if they want to fill up the half hour.

BuzzerBlog : Rumor Control: "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" Gets a New Money Chain After All

In many foreign countries, the 12 step ladder seems to be working well, but I would put a safety net up every 4 questions: 12: $1,000,000 11: $500,000 10: $250,000 9: $100,000 8: $50,000*** 7: $30,000 6: $20,000 5: $15,000 4: $10,000*** 3: $5,000 2: $2,000 1: $1,000
