Weeelll, now that kinda sheds some light on the story. He simply tho't she was ready for action and he just "misread" her, just like politicians "misspeak" all the time. IMO, if the woman was out for money or something, why did she wait 4 years to push this? It doesn't make any sense. She could have done it immediately and the police would have went and questioned Gore.
